Goes without saying, and it's all part of the package and the press will be laser focused so him, will be interesting to see how JM carries himself on the touch line and in the press room when August comes round.
This isn't hot-headed Inter or Real where there is so much ego and politics involved at those clubs from the owner down through the board all the way to the boot room staff, and he fits right in with the high charged atmosphere. It's not Chelsea where he also had a maverick owner and JM had carte blanche, especially the second go-round.
Depending on who you read he had a to convince the board heavily, something he hasn't probably had to do the last few gigs. A board who is still used to Fergie and over two decades of stability, after hiring two low key guys in Fergies wake. So the convincing them isn't to do with his results, likely the means of achieving those, and maintaining those results over more than one or two seasons without scorching the earth at the club with loss of younger players or losing tens of millions of overpaid transfer fees. Or, simply, convincing them that the manager is not trying to be the star of the show. Of course Fergie had his ego and blowups, but JM is a different cat when things go sideways and can almost be said he starts looking for the side door given his past experiences.
With JMs respect for Fergie and his legacy there, and guys like Charlton etc watching him closely, and the expectation that JM wins, and does it with some civility, could we see a more subdued personality trying to fit in and not rock the boat? At least to start?

He will be expected to win. To do so, I fully expect the civility and rigidness shown by the van Gaal regime to be discarded, the shackles to be taken off and pure raw passion to take over. His passion is part of who he his, what makes him successful.
United aren't England. They aren't seeking a yes man. Far from it. They are simply seeking a winner.

The biggest thing Mourinho needs to bring to the table is a winning mentality. The club seemed to accept mediocrity under van Gaal ... I was sick and tired of him talking about how fans expected too much, how great a 4th place finish would be and how happy the fans should be about winning something like the FA Cup. There simply has to be more desire and urgency in the club again, and as much as I've always disliked Mourinho and Ibrahimovic, I believe they can bring that to the table. They won't settle for 4th place.
As long as Mourinho doesn't gouge somebody's eye, we're fine ...

We'll see. Some of his antics he pulled off because he was who he was,and results followed or had preceded him. I don't think he has that full amount of rope now, as one still gets skepticism if everyone in power at ManU are fully on board with him in charge.
Put it this way, if he was at United when he chastised the trainer for running on, I think the response would've been different from him in the days after he got a talking too from above.
Of course the telltale sign will be how he deals with Pep (when push comes to shove, he is saying all the right things now) and of course any unanticipated losses.

Apart from the Carneiro episode what antics are you referring to that are so far out there? And so different from Fergie's outbursts?
And as for a rivalry with Pep? What are you expecting any different from Fergies battles with Wenger both on and off the pitch and in the tunnel, and Benetiz and Keegan and Dalglish.
I fully expect a few meltdowns, a few FA fines. He's a bad loser and that is good. As the saying goes .. show me a good loser and I'll show you a loser. As mentioned van Gaal thought mediocrity was ok, that's not the case with the likes of him or SAF. If boots need to be kicked into heads or cups smashed against the wall then so be it.

eye gouging
hiding in a laundry bin
calling Wenger a voyeur who likes to spy on families
telling Rafa's wife to spend more time in the kitchen
lie about another manager entering a referees room at half time

He's a master troller. Toss in shaking managers hands before full time and heading down the tunnel because he wants to crack open the wine early or call the wife etc.
I think he's great, both as a proven manager at top world clubs and as a star of the show when it comes to press gatherings. And I'm not supporter of any of his past or current clubs. Football needs characters and he's one of the best.
My point was that ManU are a little more button down than the other places he's been. With not all on board of his hiring and with his self professed reverence for the job and the tradition, will he tone it down, and if he doesn't tone it down, will that give his in club detractors a way to push him out.
I agree, I don't think he should... but will he, or will he be forced to?
I also agree that ManU need a kick in the pants, though probably thier supporters are more passionate about wanting some more fire in the coaching box (and results) than the board, but this could be a double footed kick with studs up.

1&5 Yes
2 is an "apparently" tin foil story.
3 & 4 whoopee doo. A trash talk on Wenger's obsession with him and Chelsea and a put down on Rafa's wife for running her mouth on something that is none of her business. She presented herself as fair game.
Anyways, could be worse. He could have a history of taking bungs or something like that ......

What did Mata do to Jose? Sleep with his wife? Is he following Mata around just to sell him somewhere else?

The last United midfielder to get wet when it rains.

nah I think he just doesn't suit Mourinhos system. And to be honest: after seeing him at United for two and a half years, I still don't know what to make of Mata. He's not dynamic and creative enough to be a real number 10, he's too slow to play on the wing (at least in the PL). Work rate is an issue as well, he doesn't do a whole lot defensively and he fades in and out of games. To me he's more of a luxury player than a key player.

Yes.
There is a difference between a respectable man lowering his standards and a rude little prick who is constantly playing in the mud.

I imagine in like 10 years Mata is going to be on some random sunday league side, playing with his friends, shows up late to a game one week and Mourinho is suddenly managing them
there's a seat for you on the bench Juan.....

Rumours out there that West Ham want to sign Canadian MF Atiba Hutchinson.
I don't know if that's the best place for him, given that he's an every game starter in Turkey, will again be in the Champions League this year, and widely considered one of the best midfielders in the Turkish top flight. But Bilic knows him well, and it would be cool to see him actually play club football every weekend.

lots of rumours that City is about to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.

Manchester City are in advanced talks with Borussia Dortmund over the signing of striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sky sources understand.

article also mentions that they still want to bring in Laporte and Stones. If those asshats manage to bring in Aubameyang, Gündogan, Stones and Laporte in a single transfer window ... what a disgusting thought.
