Not to go all Don Bologna on you, but what you outline makes sense in fantasy hockey, but just doesn't happen in the NHL (any more). Young players with star potential are just too valuable. The only way Calgary gets a guy like Misa is if they are willing to table a young player with star potential as well.

Exceptions are like Quinn Hughes of course but that's not what we are talking about with Rasmus.

Dousing hope but with the rationale of "just being realistic" and pretending to be worried about other people's future crushed expectations after letting them get wildly out of control.

Yeah, I know it's really exciting pondering what could be coming back but realistic expectations would go a long way when the deal is finally done, lest we compare the actual outcome to some imaginary offer until the end of time.

Remember when it was reported that LA had a whopper of a deal that was later rumoured to be a first and a second?

If the Flames end up trading Andersson to SJ, Cardwell seems like the type of player the Flames usually covet. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a part of the package. That's not a flashy name but, I just wanted to throw it out there.

Just saw this chatter involving Seravalli (take it for what it's worth) - the Kights are still in on Andersson for a package that could include Jakob ilhs Wozniak and a 2026 2nd rounder.

This would be something I could get excited about with given he's a right shot C with big time skill who takes a ton of draws. Signed in Sweden for one more year but is in his D+1 year this year. I like this a lot more than the Detroit Danielson rumors for sure.

That's a weak return if it only contains Wozniak and a 2nd.

Just to be clear it appears the writer of the article is speculating the return could be Ihs-Wozniak and a 2nd. Seravalli did not say that package as far as I can tell

If the picks are equal, take the prospect with the highest ceiling (not the highest floor).

I'm more concerned about finding our next gaudreau than our next backlund (which we may already have in one of a couple of players).

Plus then we could have The Woz and The Stonk up the middle long-term.
But if that's the prospect there needs to be a 1st in there. not a 2nd.

2 2nd round picks AND you would weaken the 1st round pick you are already holding??

I think every team in consideration has put forth a better deal than that and a few teams that are not even trying have beat that offer too just for fun.

Feels like a lot less than Danielson + 1st

Add in the part about making our Vegas 1st likely worse, and I’d say that vegas package is off another late first value
