Are you aware how dumb the average person is and then realize that 50% are dumber than that?

Lol! When I rented my second office it was literally empty except for the toilet. I had to do everything. I mean everything.

I rounded up the troops. My Brother-in-Law built the walls, people were painting, the whole thing, and of course I didnt have much money so...this was getting done 'on the cheap.'

My friend was building the IKEA sink vanity in the bathroom at one point and he comes to me and says..."I'm done, but something seems wrong...can you have a look?"

Sure. Wait...WTF is this? Yeah something is wrong! You assembled it backwards! How were you expecting these doors to open?? Did you read the instructions at all? Can you read my son??

Its got like 6 pieces to it, how did you manage this travesty??

Then you have to take the whole thing apart, which sucks because the wood is so cheap it starts coming apart.

Ikea is like buying a Maybach vs the crap I had to assemble at Zellers and Walmart. You built it exactly where you wanted it, because they were an inch of movement away from complete rapid self-disassembly back into the sawdust pile and grade Z-- metal from whence they were born.

A place like Porch may not be the most buddy/beer friendly place to meet for drinks but it's not a weird spot to meet. It's all relative and depending on what type of crowd your seeking too. Personally I like to alter between the class and the trash. Porch is a good spot if you go out with your boys and are looking for some eye candy and want to strike up some convo's, it's very female friendly there. If your looking for a hearty meal, the hockey game and chill spot to catch up, go elsewhere.

Its very simple, not every is highly educated nor has an Engineering degree.

Hence the in-flight safety lecture!

However, the real truth of it is? Some people always think they know better and dont read the instructions.

Then you have people like myself. I am not particularly handy nor constructionally inclined, so....I read the instructions.

When I first met my wife we had to build an IKEA shelf and I open the box and grab the instructions.

Wife: "What are you doing? We havent even laid out all the pieces yet."

Me: "I'm reading the instructions. I read them first, then lay out the pieces and then follow the instructions step-by-step."

I wont repeat what she said after that as there are children on this site, but she was...immensely happy.

1. Thats exactly what he said he was looking for.

He was meeting a buddy to watch the game and have a relatively inexpensive meal and drinks.

2. If I'm meeting my buddy for the game and drinks and I get to the location and my seat is a swing? I would do a 180 heel-turn so fast people's heads would spin.

Gimmicky nonsense and expensive drinks? Hard. No.

I understand 100% and agree. I like mixing things up myself personally and it's good to check out different spots. Some people know nothing other than the classic trendy, stupid spot with a menu that makes your head spin.

I like mixing things up a bit too.

It’s just the silly things they do, that ordinarily you’d just eyeball and be like, “this is the right part or side or whatever”. Instead, they have one side having a slight bevel or a bunch or 10mm long screws and also 11mm screws just to mess with you. I mean, id you deal with Ikea stuff enough, you’re used the goofy shtick of having to inspect all the parts and realize the assembly instructions are to be taken extremely literally. I mean, they could improve this a bit. Some companies are better at making assembly somewhat more intuitive.

Yeah I get that, I could see it being a good place to start a Fri/Sat night on the town and maybe meet someone up at the wood, yes it's very female-friendly in there. This was more of a lazy Sunday, dressed-down in hoodies meet-up.

But he accepted my counter-offer of a pub, so it all worked out. He told me later the reason he chose Porch was because they have awesome Sunday deals...I was unaware of this.

Definitely check gas buddy in your area if you're filling up today or tomorrow after the carbon tax came off. Wild swings in my area of 1.30 - 1.60, seemed like a 50/50 split too.

I ordered an item through SportChek. Today, Canada Post claimed they delivered it to my address. They did not. They also did not require any signatures, names or take any pictures of the delivery.

What a sorry excuse of an organization. I wish they no longer existed.

Yeah, my friend's kid works delivery for Amazon and their delivery standards are insane. You have to be able to prove, without a shadow of a doubt, that that package got there, what time, where did you leave it and you need a photo of it with metadata.

In comparison Canada Post are like that slow kid with a paper route who just throws it from his bike.

"Good enough!"

This is the thing. I think its very important to have a National Delivery Service. Canada Post fills an important role. But this iteration of Canada Post, like a lot of Government services, is rotten. Burn it down and start again.

Canada Post is only better than literally every other shipping option. But other than that they are terrible.

Fixed.

In some instances, they're the only option.
