Yeah reddit just has a bunch of long term "inside jokes" that are repeated. It's kind of like a non visual meme- specific lines or triggers have coded responses that other super users will recognize and boost through upvotes or whatever.
I will admit that I do find the occasional one funny because I recall the initial instances. But most of the time they are garbage.

It's fata'ing good thing we don't have anything like that around here, or I'd have to Wannamaker up a poll about grocery bags in bathtubs, standing in sinks, premium mall pizza, and buying overpriced pop from a liquor store. That'd just end up being another Jankowski.

What I find annoying is that some sub will post something mildly interesting. Usually a repost from a few years ago like releasing a dam, or an insanely huge horse.
Then every other sub reposts it within minutes and the front page is the same damn image/video reposted a million times.

Eh, you get used to it quickly. The top comments/responses always float to the top, and that's by design. Reddit is my #1 news source, as it's crowdsourced content and easy to find what you're looking for in terms of discussion, all in one spot. Admittedly of course, it's definitely not the nicest looking website.

I have a CIBC aeroplan Visa card where the " fraud verify" by SMS function for online purchases never works. I simply never receive the SMS when I click on that option. They don't offer an email option. They offer a phone call audio option which is not as convenient and impossible when I'm in a foreign country on a foreign SIM card.
I've googled solutions, it's not anything to do with my iPhone. I've called CIBC several times about this and they are useless. The open "tickets" but I never hear back. I have other credit cards, even Visa cards by other banks and don't have any similar problems.
Has anyone ever experienced this?

I was recently in Nepal and got f'ed over by the BMO Mastercard fraud protection, tried to book and pay for a flight but they held it up and asked for the code sent by text. I can't get a text, I have a different SIM card installed. No otion for email. I had to walk several blocks to find a place to add mins to my phone, call BMO and tell them to not hold up that payment, pay the airline, thank you. Nope, sorry sir, you must make the purchase again and we'll have a note to not have any security check. By the time that crap was done I ran out of time and couldn't book a seat on that flight anymore. Cost me an entire day.
The annoying this is, last year I called before I went to Japan to inform them I would be using my card, that's me, please do not put any holds on purchases. I was literally told "you don't have to call in sir, that's not necessary".

With Reddit I find that it keeps getting worse when they do updates and refreshes. I always use Old Reddit because that is my favorite.

I just don't understand why there can't be an email verification option rather than SMS. I have a Mastercard and there's an email option.

Maybe there is an email option with BMO Mastercard, possibly need to ask them to change it, I just know it defaulted to a text and I was f'ed.

Old.reddit with RES is a huge improvement. Their app is even worse than the site and it's tough to get a good experience without using a paid app.
