Don't blame Greece. Blame UEFA for allowing games to be decided on penalty kicks.

The team tried but they are not there yet. But I like what I see and the direction the team is heading. Lets not forget we played the last two games without our clear "#1" best player in Rosicky.

Rosicky is to us Czechs what Ronaldo is to Portugal. And I'm not comparing there talents just saying that is how important he is too our squad.

I am proud of my Czechs. They did great in this tournament. Hopefully they can build on this and qualify for the World Cup as they have a tough group with Denmark and Italy.

The past is the past. It doesn't matter that they're not good. It doesnt matter how they qualified or how they got out of the group stage. Knockout football is the chance of a lifetime. Go for it!

I'm not saying that didn't have a good tournament, they did.
But is Portugal that much better than them? Really?

Yes I accept that without Rosicky their attacking options are limited. But there have to be some attacks. The coach needs to find a way to hold the ball and to attack somehow. Can't win a match just soaking pressure.

Playing a power like Spain or Germany, I can understand. But it's only Portugal.

Some stats at the half, Germany leading the following categories

Attacks 33-3
Corners 5-0
Chances 5-0
Shots 13-2
Possession 70-30

And that's resting three of their best players. It's criminal they only lead 1-0 so far. Hopefully pot another in the second half.

They have got to eliminate shoot-outs tomorrow if they can. Obviously teams like Greece and the Czech's who likely can't win a straight up game will play for penalties from minute one, because their odds are much better of winning a shoot-out than the actual game.

There is no other solution. Soccer hates the shootout as much as we do.
But what's the solution, they can't play indefinitely. Players are dead tired enough after 120 minutes.

Honestly I wished after 90 minutes they would take two guys off and make it 9 on 9. With so much more open space I'd have to think they could score a goal in no more than say 45 minutes.

I'm not sure they could run in that open space. The field is sooooo big!

...and in the 80th minute, the Germans make a sub and bring on the co-leading scorer of the tournament.

Tough to be German.

Klose got one! I am a happy man. This is way better football by them.

Lahm keeps cheating up field too.much and he finally got burnt. It's happened a few games now

The ageless wonder scores once again. Gerd Muller must be feeling the pressure.
