Paradis ego toppled him over.
Unlcky for Guay...very likely to be 5th again...this time just 0.04 seconds off of the podium. Wouldn't call him a choker..0.26 seconds combined faster over two races and he would've had two bronze medals.
Paradis on the other hand....Miller is a notorious party magent but at least he has consistent results to back it up. Paradis has "partying" listed as one of his hobbies on the official website, and is nothing more then a wanna-be Miller without the talent or skill. All talk no action, especially on his home course.

I think that they were OK excepting Paradis and Brydon, Paradis looked like he was trying too hard and Brydon was like she wasn't trying hard enough but she's OK in super g so you never know.
Guay is ranked 6th in Super G on the world cup, hasn't been ranked in the top 3 in downhill in 4 years or so. I think he had a good games, Janyk had a good race as well. Kucera and Vanderbeek were both good and both missed the games due to injury.

What happened to Paradis' party buddy Dixon? Another race, another DNF.

Betting on Canadian Alpine is like betting on the Washington Generals.

Based on their performance in these games it seems to me that the mens local skiers at least are horribly non-clutch. There was a lot of bluster from both Osbourne-Paradis and Dixon about their Olympic appearances on "my mountain", and yet Eric Guay seems to be the only consistent finisher on the men's team.

Haha, my boss knows all 4 of them. Says Robbie is generally pretty cool, but Paradis is a huge question mark. Funny how my boss was convinced at least one of them will medal. He's also at the games right now, hanging out with the alpine team.

i'm thinking the whole "Own the Podium" thing was a mistake. not the funding obviously, but stating to the whole world that we wanted to top the medal count. now anything less is a disappointment and with the Americans running away with everything it's a little embarrassing, especially with them calling their success "Rent the Podium" in jest

Yeah the hype was stupid, probably tied into the funding I guess. I'm sure they all thought they had a chance, but Kucera was really the best bet in downhill. Waaaay too much hype on Paradis recently, and from what I've heard of his attitude he probably was into it. For anyone that follows world cup and not just tunes into skiing during the olympics, results so far are no surprise.
Great two races by Erik, so close to podium, wish he would've been on it for his sake.

There is nothing wrong, or embarrassing, about setting a lofty goal. Better than our usual "top 10 is good enough" strategy. Either it works, or more likely, it doesn't. The effort is worthwhile.
Anyway, Kevin Martin just put a five spot up against Denmark to open a commanding lead. Curling is going along quite smoothly so far.

I figured I would put this in here. Elvis Stojko rips the International Skating Union for giving the gold to Evan Lysachek.
