Wind it when I want to wear it? Only real annoying thing is setting the date if you have a day date.

I have a Wolf Roadster double watch winder. Winds two watches and stores up to four up to (three plus one in the travel box). Before you look at the price and rightfully ask "Are you mental?", Overstock.com was selling a bunch of them on eBay at a massively discounted price (like 20% of MSRP) so I snagged one.
For pieces I wear only occasionally, I will fully wind them then pull the crown and set the time at 8 minutes past 10 (the typical 'store display' time) and sit them in the top of my watch box while hacked. When I want to wear one, I can quickly set the time, pop in and screw the crown back down, and it's ready to go. I don't keep them on the winder; that's for my regularly worn pieces.

I spend the 90-120 seconds or so it takes to get it wound and set time/date.
I also have solar and quartz option in case I don't feel like spending time setting up the auto.

Consolidated my collection a bit.
Speedy, IWC and Breitling out.
Zenith Chronomaster Sport in.
Not my photo, but same watch.
Enjoying it a lot more than the other 3 chronographs I departed with.
Keeps a chrono in my collection and balances the collection really well.
Down to mainly a nice trio now.

Nicely done and congrats!
I own a Zenith Chronomaster Original with the same movement. It is my first and only chronograph so I can not compare it to anything else but I love watching the chronograph hand go around the dial every 10 seconds. By far the best way to track how long I have been on my work break hahaha.

Recently found a Vacheron Constantine 6290 18k white gold that my grandfather got as a gift for his wedding. My grandma let me take some of his old boxes home so I was a bit surprised when it was just chilling at the bottom. Bit of wear and tear on it. Think its from the 60’s, the watch guy was adamant that I refurbish it and keep it long term if I don’t need to sell it. I’m not into watches really but think it may be worth keeping and wearing once and a while. Left it with the jeweller for the week as he gets more info on it but think I’ll take his advice and keep it. I knew the brand name but I would never guess it was a “fancy” watch from far away lol. Funny enough my uncles had raided his closet when he past 8 years ago, but they left his most valuable piece because it’s so unassuming.

Definitely keep it!
Aside from the fact VC's are amazing, it's a wonderful momento of your grandfather.

Vacheron Constantine is considered one of the “holy trinity” of Swiss watchmakers, along with Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. Keeping it is the right move, especially since it has a connection to your grandfather.

That Zenith looks nice. I keep circling back to nice watches like VC/AL&S and I keep telling myself I want one, but I think I'm too scared to chase a >$2.5K watch right now. I also keep window shopping $25K+ watches.
I bought a few straps from Uncle Seiko and swapped out a few leather straps. I like it. fricken steel tariffs though.
They're slightly elevated from the $20-30 bracelets, but IMO it's still obvious that there's a huge gap between these and $5K+ watch bracelets.
I made a slight mistake and picked up a super engineer bracelet for a Seiko Captain Willard... frick. The curved end is significantly more specific than the other bracelets and it may only fit a SPB 151/153 type case. Is fate saying I am supposed to buy one? Maybe I'll see if there's a way to get other curved ends so that I can get the bracelets to fit other watches nicely.
When I get a chance, I'll have to take a pic of the watches after the bracelet swaps and post them beside the original straps. The Cocktail time and Alpinist look great. I'm thinking about getting a two tone for the Alpinist to make it pop even more and I'm also poking around to see what I can find that will be a nice match for my Orient sun/moon or Hamilton Khaki Pilot. I'm pretty excited. The results from the cocktail time and Alpinist alone are currently enough for me to actually want to toss the activity tracker to the side.

Parted ways with my Rolex today.
Had it since 2021, wore it a lot, had some good times and sold for a bit more than I bought it for. Can't complain.
As Marie Kondo would suggest:
Gave it a mental thank you, acknowledging it's contribution and let it go with appreciation.

Only do it if it's really what you want and can afford.
These are just jewellery at the end of the day and day 1 is the best day you get with them.
The nice thing is some will hold value very well so you don't lose much in the long run if you can afford the buy in at the beginning.
The 4 watches I just unloaded cost me $38,350 to acquire over the last 4-12 years and I got $37,500 in sale or trade value for them; mainly due to the Rolex appreciation balancing out the other depreciations.
A net cost of $850 to enjoy some great watches for years is pretty good.

Datejust 41, two tone, chocolate stick dial. Looked like this
I did a sell and trade with Time & Gold in Vancouver, I didn't want to go through the hassle and potential scams of a private sale.
They were excellent to deal with.

I've recently been wearing my Tudor Prince Oysterdate again. Such an understated and beautiful watch. Looks very similar to your rolex above, without the dual tone on the band.
My dad bought it in the early 70's as an atta boy for himself when he graduated university, and passed it to me when I graduated.
Figured I should get some more wear out of it, as it'll go to my son once he graduates.

I'm wearing my black Duro with a Bond NATO strap again today. I have nicer watches, albeit not the caliber of most of the watches in this thread, but I just can't get enough of the Duro. It also gets a shockingly large amount of compliments too.

Nothing as fancy as some of the other options, but I swapped the bracelets on a few of my watches and here are the results. Original strap beside watch. I am happy. I'm thinking a two tone jubilee or rice (steel + gold) for the Alpinist will make it pop more.
Sun/Moon, Alpinist, Cocktail time.
Sun/Moon has the $30 bracelet from Amazon.
The other two are from Uncle Seiko about $100 CAD each.
For the jubilee, Uncle Seiko @ $100 is a noticeable step up from the $30 jubilee, but it's still inferior to the original jubilee that came with my SKX009 Pepsi diver. I am starting to understand the nuances of the bracelets now. I guess I've always had decent/passable bracelets.
I'll need to look for a curved end sometime so that I can get the Super Engineer bracelet on something. I have one watch with it, I'd love another. That bracelet is underrated IMO.

Love the middle one with the black dial. Has a real vintage feel with that bracelet
