Bengals wasting Burrow's huge season and Higgins last season with a horrific defense and Zac Taylor coaching. Still have the Steelers twice and the Broncos, so running the table might be pretty tough. Might be able to afford one more loss to not the Broncos so the H2H tiebreaker could be enough with eight losses if Denver does too.

Herbert is without a doubt the best player from that draft. His best receiver is a rookie Ladd McConkey and his TE is Will Dissly and he makes him look good. Burrow is obviously very good in his own right but Herbert is next level with a fraction of the offensive support. Chargers need to invest into #1 WR in free agency. Someone like Higgins or Metcalf

Being a Harbaugh coached team. That's the one thing they won't do. They'll spend on offensive and defensive line and go with younger cheaper receivers.
Of all the big name, high paid receivers, which ones are on winning teams right now? A.J.Brown and Amon Ra St.Brown. Many top teams are relying on guys on rookie deals, and there's a lot of talent coming into the league at that position.

I'm a big fan of Herbert and I enjoy watching him play and I think he should have a lot of success but best player in that draft is a stretch. It was a pretty stacked draft. I would probably put Jefferson ahead of Herbert as the best player overall.

He's not being asked to carry that team as they have the best defense in the NFL and they have a balanced offense as Harbaugh likes to run the ball. Burrow has to carry the Bengals on his back every week.

Yeah I'm definitely going Burrow over Herbert if I'm building a franchise; I'd go Herbert over Burrow in fantasy football. But I think a good coach like Harbaugh is going to get the most out of him and that team in general, Herbert is definitely an elite talent.

Thank goodness for 7 playoff spots or else the AFC would be done already?
Who gets that last playoff spot? Denver is favorite. Indy meh.. Miami might make a run with Tua back. Bengals nah.

I still remember the day the Giants handed out that contract to Jones. I know hindsight is 20/20 but he got hot for a six game stretch and it's like the organization forgot what he looked like for the other 3 seasons and 10 games. Since he signed that deal, things have gone exactly how most of us would have expected except the Giants braintrust.

Did you miss Herbert first 4 years? Bad defence, bad O line, injured receivers every season and still threw for 5000 yards in his second year, something Burrow has not done. Burrow has arguably the best WR matched with another close to elite WR in Higgins and Herbert has statistically out performed him in every regular season until this one. You give Herbert Chase and it’s a no brainer who is better. Burrow has a lot of excuses this season that no one gave to Herbert in the same exact position in his first 4 years.

Denver pretty easily, I think.
In last 7 starts, Nix has thrown for 1500yds, rushed for 200, thrown 13 tds with 2 picks, and scored 2 rushing TDs. They did lose to the Chargers, Ravens and Chiefs during that stretch, but that's a pretty good football team, a tough defense, and Nix is becoming a real good QB.

You know I'm very disappointed in myself for missing the obvious sign the Bills would win yesterday, and missing my chance at mortgaging my house on them to win. But a Bills win yesterday means they are 9/11 this season, and we all know how much 9/11 inspires the Bills.

I'm a Raiders fan so I'm well aware of Herbert's first four seasons. I would take Burrow over Hebert all day, every day.

They literally brought in Harbaugh to turn them into a defensive run team. Herbert is good, but Burrow is much better.

7 games, 2 W 5 L, 56.9% comp, 5 TD 8 INT, 22 sacks, 66.7 rating
pretty crazy, given his overall career averages are 65%, 100.6 rating and a 3-1 TD-INT ratio. For some reason, the Steelers D is just kryptonite for him.
Also some pretty crazy nuggets from the AFC North overall. Burrow had 9 TDs in the two games against the Ravens ... and lost both, while the Steelers beat them with zero TDs yesterday. This also feels impossible:

Yeah it may be time for the Bengals to consider a new head coach while their best players are still in their prime. Even if they come back to miraculously get a wild card spot you just know they will come out of the gates 0-2 next season playing catch-up as they do every year and that's just not good enough.

Chargers are top 5 in cap space in 2025 and total picks. They are definitely going to make an upgrade on WR. Herbert has never had a player like Chase or Higgins who can break the top off a defence. This year was supposed to be a rebuilding year for them where they got their defence and O line functioning properly and cap sorted. I’d imagine next year they will be going after several WR’s to open up their contention window.

Has a non playoff player won MVP? Burrow is making a serious case right now. I think Goff played himself back into the conversation as well.

Upgrade vs sign a marquee name are in different stratosphere. I can see them going for a solid number 3 in free agency or drafting another WR in the first two rounds. That's a lot different than your fantasy talk.
Show me when Harbaugh and Greg Roman have ever paid top dollar for Wide Receiver about to get a big money second contract.
You seem to think Herbert is still on a rookie deal...
