Not hockey related but it’s hilarious to know that Popeyes HQ think Edmontonians are such glutinous fat asses, they’ve been made 1 of 4 locations that offers a 300 piece nugget meal until Friday.

https://www.narcity.com/popeyes-300-...da-3-days-only

Quote:
Popeyes is supersizing one of its menu items and offering 300-piece chicken nuggets in Canada but for three days only.

To celebrate the 300th Popeyes location in Canada opening on October 25, 2022, the fast food chain is introducing "a menu item befitting for the milestone" — a 300-piece Nugget Meal.

So, if you get this meal, you'll get one nugget for each Popeyes location in the country!

The 300-piece meal will cost you $200 at locations in B.C., Alberta and Ontario but the location in Manitoba has it on the menu for $205.99.

Why is the first page of the CALGARY Sun sports section this morning a complete Oilers propaganda piece. Derek Van Diest, twice mentions in this crap article how McDavid was interfered with causing him to crash into the goal post. Anyone with eyes who watched that play knows no penalty took place. Another case where the fanboy media in Edmonton is pushing an agenda. Keep that crap in the Edmonton Sun!

LOL. Other players OWE McDavid for their pay cheques. That's a new one. It's also incredibly insulting to every player not named McDavid who worked their asses off to get to the NHL.

I don't know how you can call a guy with over 800 NHL games played and a defenseman who could end up with 100 goals before his career is over 2nd tier.

When he was in Edmonton he didn't buy season tickets.

Petry “knew that it was highly likely he would get injured…” and yet “new face of the nhl”(NFOTN) didn’t.

Is this Ron Maclean’s burner twitter? It feels like the right of way rule dialed up.

There is no universal constant or “correct” way humans respond to an injury. That slash caught him in an area where the knee/shin protector has limited or zero padding, so it would be amazing if he experienced no pain, then thought about it and realized he ought to dive for a penalty.

i had a men's hockey game last night (here in kelowna)
it's the normal pregame locker room chatter and i bring up the 'amazing' start that the canucks have had this year. the canucks fans kind of drop their heads in shame and the one guy that is a hard core oiler fan starts laughing.
i said something like it's the worst start in the canucks history and not winning any of what... their first six or seven games.
i then immediately follow it with, "but the amazing thing is, even after sucking that bad the canucks are only 4 points back of the oilers!!"
i get a 'wtf' look from the oiler fan and lots of laughs from the canuck fans.
it's kinda fun being able to roast the two teams i can't stand with a simple statement like that.

If anything, this probably demonstrates the total authenticity of an injury. More often than not, a player who is embellishing will go over-the-top with exaggerations in a stronger effort to ensure that a call is made.

In general, however, I think it is the better course of action to avoid predicting how a player's body language "should" or "should not" appear when taking a hit.

I don't doubt it hurt like hell the person who whacked him was very "skilled" in that area .
It just looks comical the way he goes down

This is not Hockey Related by too good to not put in an E=NG thread.

Edmonton was on the front page of r/funny on Reddit this morning!
