We've got Tulo 2.0 on our hands.

In other news, do we have any update on Springer at all? It's like they're sweeping something under the rug and completely ignoring it. Every time I look for an update there's just nothing. No timeline or even fluff articles.

Obviously they're dealing with something more significant than they're letting on. It was all just lies about his thigh just being "a little fatigued". I know clubs are hell bent on keeping this under wraps but even a little transparency from the team would be appreciated.

It's getting ridiculous.
The Jays are notorious for their lack of transparency with injuries. They also seem to have the worst training/medical staff in sports.

Toronto Blue Jays manager Charlie Montoyo told reporters Monday that injured outfielder George Springer is improving but is still without a timeline on when he may begin a rehab assignment.
Montoyo added that Springer will travel with the team as they go on the road Tuesday, first to New York and then to Cleveland before heading to Sahlen Field to begin the Buffalo portion of their 2021 schedule.

Yeah the Springer stuff is starting to reek a little. But I guess with a 32 year old you've invested 150 million in they're going to take their time. My guess would be mid June at the earliest.

Last I heard he came back too early last time and re aggravated his quad injury, and I think I heard he is jogging again now. I think we'll see an overcautious approach with him moving forward.

Would suck if he was just broken now.

Happy Manoah day everyone!

Really excited to see what he brings, and what a test to start it off in the Bronx.

Still a lot of games to be played and the Jays have had one of, if not the, hardest schedules up until this point. There will be an opportunity to make games up.

Teams go through rough stretches all the time. They're still 4-6 in their last 10 games.

Some of you sure ride a roller coaster of emotions - yes, the TB series was tough, but there is a reason that it is a 162 game schedule. Sometimes you catch teams at the right time, sometimes at the wrong time. Had the Jays' pen been hot this weekend, they win 3 or 4 of those games. But they were cold (and injured), and the Rays are on a tear. It happens.

And as has been said, their schedule, along with their injuries, has been brutal.

It was a learning experience, and they will not only be fine, they'll be owning TB soon enough. This team is incredibly talented, and starting to 1) believe in themselves and 2) learn how to win.

It is the toughest division in baseball, and they may not make the playoffs this year (I still think they will). But even if they don't, the future is incredibly bright. And the future is no further away than next year.

Can't wait to see Manoah tonight!

Ugh.

And I was just sitting here thinking about how it was only an hour and a half or so until Manoah time.

Manoah in a 7 inning game might be a blessing.

Day off
Matz goes 6 2/3
Day off
Two 7 inning games with Manoah and Ray starting

Bullpen getting some much needed rest. Especially if Ray and Manoah can combine for 12 innings or so.

It wasn’t a day off before Matz, they played Monday on the game that went to extras after Stripling bailed out Thornton. But yeah I think the double header helps the Jays more. They’re a younger team lineup wise and such should be better able to handle doubleheader’s. Also Voit just got injured and Stanton isn’t back yet. Yankees lineup currently is not nearly as scary as Boston’s. And yeah we need the bullpen rest.

Lol I dunno why I thought there was a day off.

This double header can help even more then, as long as the two starters can go even marginally deep.

This is a massive gamble by the Jays but certainly understandable.

This guy has pitched 35 innings of pro ball in his whole life. Thats unheard of.

Hope it all works out but the road to greatness is littered with the corpses of guys who were rushed into the show. This has all the possibilitiues of seeing that same result.
