That guy is awesome. Figure out your day and then respond with what works. He’s not your mother wondering what time you’ll get there for dinner.

I think your response does trigger many people’s frustrations with buyers.
You didn’t provide any actionable information and essentially asked him to stay at home all day. A pick up reply should say - I can be there between 12-12:30 or 2-2:30 which is better. If that does not work can you propose a time that works for you.
It doesn’t warrant his reply to you but I can see why reading this he’s like what am I supposed to do with this information.

Yeah, I agree. Figure out your day before you respond, and then respond with a reasonable window.
Put your day on hold until maybe/kinda/sorta around 4pm is kind of a lame ask.
The racism was obviously ridiculous, though.

That's funny actually now that you put it that way I may have missed some confusion in how I presented it. In my head it wasn't meant as "if you're home before 4 I'll maybe get over sometime in there". It was meant as a quick back and forth to nail down a time with me just needing to know that he's around before 4 at which point I'm tied up after that.
So basically " are you around before 4pm?" I am home at noon for the rest of the day" "okay perfect, it works for me to pop by at 1pm then" "great see you then"

Celebrated Square Root Day

That's generally how I interact with buyers if I'm interested and have done it dozens of times without anyone getting frustrated or blowing up like that.
Basically to me it's easier that way to quickly nail down a time. Basically I'm asking a range of time you're available because that's the unknown for me, and then from there I just toss out a time that works and they usually agree.
Basically "are you available this evening after 5?" "Yep" k, does 6pm work? "Works perfect, see you then!"
Honestly have never had anyone mistenterprit what I'm asking to mean that I'm asking if they can be around all day or all evening and I'll show up in a large window of time.

I get that it’s easy to carry over how you’d talk to friends and such via text… but you gave way too much info. I often type out similar to what you did, and then realize and delete most of it. Keep it Black and white, simple to understand, “I will be there at x if that works for you, please confirm”.

I just have to figure out my day here.

This sounds like it's not going to be figured out quickly, or you would have just figured it out and then gotten back to me with your availability. I don't even need to know this and have back and forth about it. So my immediate reaction is you're kind of a waffler and pinning you down is going to be annoying.

I think I can come by if you are available before 4pm

You think? That's not very definitive. I want definitive, not a maybe. Why are you asking if I'm available before 4 if you haven't even figured out your day yet?
This is like my wife making plans with our friends. They'll have a three day back and forth. "Oh 7 may work if that works for you but we'll have to let you know as we need to see how our day goes, but we obviously understand you would like to know a time so we'll say 7 but only if that works for you otherwise we might prefer 7:30 but 7 may be fine, and where do you want to go, we're good with where ever but only a place that you're good with" "oh hey ya so about our plans, was it Saturday or Friday you wanted to get together........." 5 days later. "So.... what's the plan?"
Me: "Free to get to get together this Saturday? 7pm, our place?"
Them: "Sure, see you then"

As a seller, if you want to come at a specific time that's more a couple hours out, I'll tell you that if someone else comes along that wants it and can pick it up sooner, they'll get it.

jayswin's original reply to the seller is completely innocuous. Unless you have a massive stick up your butt.

And even jayswin's response was irritating, no need to be rude or racist. Just say no or don't say anything.

I've had buyers get really pissed off at me when I say that though.
"I'LL COME @ 4PM, I PROMISE!!!"
4PM: dude doesn't show.
Cue my surprised face.
