It's cool that they have so much money that they can fly a 747 around for 6 hours for no other reason than to make a massive 12 on flight tracking sites.

Also, seems like something like this would annoy the heck out of Seattle Center.

It is a testing aircraft, so they've just decided to make the flight plan for this test run in that "12th Man" pattern.

Boeing did similar before when testing a 787...787 and Boeing logo across half the width of the continent.

I see that. I was unaware that it was a scheduled test that was going to be flying today. Presumably the usual test routings are less irritating for ATC.

Holy Crow, does Boeing ever have a man-crush on Andre Caldwell!

Even today, the 747 is such a sexy plane. The extended -8 makes it even more glorious. Just lovely.

Oh good the debate about fans and teams has moved from the NFL threads into this thread.

Amazing Blackbird front and rear (navigator) cockpit tour by a former SR-71 pilot. 20 minutes long but almost impossible to not watch the whole thing. Just imagine this video coming out in the 60's or 70's. You'd be jailed for life for treason.

According to the 787 blog, Air Canada's first 787 (fin 801) has rolled out and is being prepared for flight, assembly has begun on fin 802, and parts are arriving for fin 803. All GEnx powered, of course.
