Yay, now I can upgrade to iOS 6.

EDIT: Where's street view? Disabled in Canada or some dumb thing?

You have to place a marker down on the map, then the address comes up at the bottom, then you can swipe up that address to bring up a link to streetview.

1Password 4.0 was released today for $8. Heavy graphic update, iCloud support and favourites folder are among the big differences. If you type in "demo" instead of your password it lets you show the app off to people without using your private data as a showcase.

For the uninitiated, 1Password is a brilliant password creating and saving tool. You create a single, bulletproof password for the app, and then you can store sensitive notes, information about your credit cards, software registration codes and website login information. If you buy the app for your computer, you can then have 1-click access to things like your bank, Amazon, or anything that requires a password. It will also give you 1 click access to billing info, so if you have a long form to fill out to order something, it can fill it all in for you (including credit card numbers and 3 digit verification numbers). It's a fireproof way of having unique passwords for every site you visit, as well as having important info on you at all times in a secure manner.

1Password is good stuff. Made in Canada too, which makes me happy.

Any camera app recommendations? I'm not into the filter thing like Instagram. Just wondering if there is an app that will take a better pic than the iPhone.

Electronic Arts has a page that lists all their holiday app deals. Check that daily for some pretty sweet finds.

Plants vs. Zombies is only $0.99 for a limited time. FIFA 13 is $0.99 too.

PvZ is my favorite iOS game. Finished it on my iPod touch a while back. Some updates have come out since and I have an iPad now. Time to get addicted again.

ParkPlus released their app a couple of days ago. I'm not overly confident in it working, but I'll do anything to not use those damn machines on the street. I've never successfully had one read my card the first time (which means I enter in info twice).

You have to create an account and load it with money, so it's a little bit like having a Starbucks or Tim Hortons card, but for parking.

Doesn't sound like it's any different than the text to park option they have.

Looks like Avengers Initiative is free today, not sure how long that'll last. It's normally one of those 4.99 games so that's nice.

I second this emotion. If you saw the cover story on Wired it talks about how easy it is to crack passwords. Quite scary. The Agilebits, maker of 1Password, blog has a lot of good security related posts. In particular the one about making a secure password is very informative for us liberal arts types. the 5 dice random word method is cool. He also references the xkcd comic about entropy(which I still don't understand) in a funny way. Quick quiz, who remembers the password from that comic?

If you do you are probably convinced about his password formula.

It was something about a donkey I think.

I actually started using that method for things that Mrs Rathji needs access to.

Karateka has been remade for the iphone and ipad. Had lots of fun with this game back in the 80's. May have to pick this up just for nostalgia sake. $2.99

At first it prompted me to connect to my slow wifi as the file was over 50 MB; and I was doing my grumbling. Then after it took about 1/2 an hour to download I was wondering what was taking so long.

Turns out the game takes up 2 GB on my phone.

I have the space right now on my phone, but the iPad may not be able to handle it.
