What possibly about Lauren coming to McDavid's defense because he can't defend anything, and her showing clips of him playing for the Oilers so staff would give him his Master Diver certification so he can rent his scuba gear sounds made up to you?

He plays like he thinks Peak-Hasek is behind him.

The Oilers' Big Boys blow the zone early, they dont backcheck and Bouchard is 'controller disconnected' the second he touches his own blueline and what? They're expecting Skinner to bail them out?

I know the 'this guy scored' meme is replete with examples, but their defensive zone coverage is abysmal, if anything its a miracle they dont get scored on more often.

A real close comparison to Evan Bouchard is Erik Gustafsson. If Gustafsson would have been able to play with offensive players such as McDavid and Draisaitl he would have hit those point totals.

I may be bullish on Zayne, but I would bet money he ends up being talked about in the same breath as the former two rather than the latter two.

Zayne's "defensive issues" are quite exaggerated IMO and he has the smarts and drive that I just can't see him being a pylon at the NHL level once he's at his peak.

I will eat my hat if Zayne doesn't end up being a substantially better overall defender than Bouchard.

Oh OK. Because I could totally see this story being told by Oiler fan social media.

Yeah, but made up by Oil fans seemed plausible.

McDavid extension coming?

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/nhl...ce4c0e8fc&ei=6

Expect Edmonton to stay aggressive with trades and be one of the big buyers at next season's deadline.

With McDoofus at 16 to 17.5 million, Draisaitl and Bouchard's new contracts kicking in, where do the Oilers figure the cap room will come from to make these aggressive trades. Unless they are moving Dry, or Bouch or Hyman or Nurse (snicker, snicker), they won't have cap room to add anybody of significance.

Somewhat disappointing if he signs a 2 year or 4 year contract. That means he gives the oilers all of his prime years and it remains a tradable contract with immense value in return if he gets frustrated in 2 years and demands a trade. The ideal would have been him either leaving in free agency next year or signing a massive 8 year extension at $18 million AAV.

Nurse moved with a significant amount retained and very little in return. They just extended Boo-Boo so I doubt he's moved out (it'd be a bit of a sleasebag move, but what the hey).

Some overpriced mid-level guys like Fredo might be equally hard to move, but there's very little wiggle room.

Nurse was 2nd on the Oilers for ice time. Even if they can find a way to get out of his contract they still need to replaces his minutes and that won't come cheap.

It’s hilarious that McDavid is even considering wasting the rest of his prime years in Stinkville. What a f’n moron. Hope he’s happy with being a perennial loser for the rest of his career, because he’ll never win a championship with that clown show franchise.

I would agree. McDavid is actually a moron for signing that first long term deal, never mind staying for another contract. Complete idiot.

Are 2 Mutts actually insiders or are they just at the tail end of the Oilers human centipede media? The short term deal thing has been talked about for months.

they have been right a day earlier on a signing before they've also been wrong after making bold claims as well.

I do think he signs because Katz will give him most of the contract in signing bonus but I get the feeling McDavid just like everyone else, sees the window closing and it's going to be a short term deal that will allow him to escape when the walls start crumbling.
