I'm also in Vancouver so our electricity rates might be different.
I'm getting charged $0.1097/kwH

The fact of the matter is that eventually there's going to have to be something in place that's more comprehensive, assuming that ICEs even get replaced materially in the future.
Anyhow, in the meantime, use it as a negotiation tactic when buying an EV to lower the purchase price.
You guys do know how to negotiate with idiot salespeople right?

I saw a couple out in the wild, they actually look kind of cool, but seem otherwise impractical for what they are. Should make a similar version but in a sedan format, ala DeLorean.
You can also see a whole thwack of them in the parking lot of the Tesla dealer as you drive Glenmore towards the Blackfoot exit. Are people not bothering to pick up their orders or are they waiting to have recall service done?

I know somebody who ordered one and had it in their driveway in less than a week. I think that's just available inventory...they're ready for you to pick up your new truck, Wormius.

They might just be surplus.

Tesla has told Cybertruck production employees not to report to work for the next three days, in another sign of demand issues for the vehicle that once touted millions of preorders.
The news was reported by Business Insider, who obtained an email telling Cybertruck production workers at Tesla’s factory in Austin, Texas that they “do not need to report to work” on “Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week (Dec. 3-5).” Workers will still be paid for their scheduled shifts.

I am not that rich. Maybe I’ll wrap some cardboard sheets in tin foil and tape them to my car.

I love the Cyber Truck. I literally laugh out loud every time I see one. Saw one this morning. It really makes my day.
I really look forward to seeing them when I'm out for a walk. I just hope the owner can see me pointing and laughing.

I'm not even sure if the Ram EV will ever be built based on the sales numbers from the other brands.

Yes, because trucks aren't a great use case for EVs. Hybrids, absolutely. It's all been kinda silly.

I drive by there all the time and they're constantly unloading new ones.
It's sad how popular they are but we love our dumb trucks and these are the dumbest.

Ram should definitely drop their EV plans and just focus on building and bringing the Ramcharger to market. They could really dominate that corner of the market until Ford, GM and Toyota catch up.

I dunno if any of the new battery tech actually pans out they'll be viable.

Sure, but I mean now. If we get Mr Fusion running all our problems go away. But I'm not sure it makes sense to invest in trucks powered by Mr Fusion at this point.

The Verge: A universal ‘Plug and Charge’ protocol for EV charging is coming in 2025
Quote:
The framework aims to deliver a truly seamless and hassle-free charging experience in which every electric vehicle can plug into any public charger without any additional steps required from the vehicle owner.
This was the intention of the official international standard (ISO 15118), also called Plug & Charge, that enables automatic charging and payment as soon as the car is plugged in. In vehicles with Plug & Charge, the charger communicates securely with the vehicle and bills the owner without the need for app signups or additional billing information.
The technology is currently available in dozens of models but hasn’t been embraced universally. Tesla helped originate the Plug & Charge experience by making its Superchargers interoperable with its passenger vehicles from the very beginning. But Tesla is a unique example as both a vehicle manufacturer and EV charging operator.

Reminds me of..
An ISO standard should hopefully be widely adopted, almost every video I watch about EVs that don't involve Tesla charging have frequent terrible charging experiences.

Voted for Kodos

In this case, it would be a communications standard, not a connector standard.

IMO, that's because trucks are inappropriately used as commuters and family haulers.
For trades guys working primarily in the city, they seem ideal. Plug in at night, run around the city all day no problems and have a power source for all your tools.
