Both Felix and Bianca are up at 10am MDT today for their QFs, both against American opponents. Felix and Benjamin Sigouin have their doubles match mid afternoon. Also congrats to Kerber on getting to #1, a late bloomer to be sure, didn't even crack the top 20 until she was 24. Pathetic ESPN coverage but we all saw that coming. I hope they give up their rights when Serena retires, I don't want them needlessly bringing up Serena when there's no Americans involved in the 2021 US Open QFs.

I wrote a letter to TSN yesterday complimenting the overall studio and grounds coverage and requesting they take the intl feed at all times. They can do it for any Canadian match why not all the time.

Serena is a specimen and overpowers players but when pushed back shes not that technically sound. Venus is the better player but her lanky body and her illness hampers her. When Venus played Pliskova she tried everything. Finesse, volleys etccc. And nearly won.

You'd think one of the TSN channels could show Felix's match today, but no, TSN5 is showing NASCAR practice (we're talkin' 'bout practice) from Richmond, Va.

Anybody watching Felix's match? The online US open scoreboard hasn't been updated in about 10 minutes or so with Felix up 5-2 in set 2. Just curious if there's a medical timeout or some other delay.

Edit: Never mind, likely just a glitch. Felix takes the match in straight sets 6-1 6-2. Woo!

I would say Bianca is going to win her match since she's up a set and a double break, but she was down a set and a double break yesterday and won. Would be cruel fate to lose this way though.

And actually it wasn't a glitch for Felix, he needed the MTO for a nosebleed. And yeah it took 10 minutes.

Bianca through to the semis with a 6-4 6-2 straight sets win. Yes!

Felix plays top seed Stefanos Tsitsipas in the boys' semi-finals tomorrow. As the Senator previously mentioned, Felix just turned 16 and Tsitsipas is two years his senior.

Monfils double-faults to give Joker an early break - There goes set 1.

Stan is only person left who can prevent Novak from winning. To beat Novak you have to overpower him (or have him play poorly I guess), and while Monfils has played great this summer, he just doesn't have the weaponry to beat Novak.

13 minutes in and Joker is up 4-love in set 1 - Oh well, at least it's a best-of-five sets match.

I remember reading Magnus Norman suggested to Stan that he lose the opening set of the 2014 Aussie QF against Novak. I suppose the thinking is let him feel settled, so maybe he lets his guard down and is not as dialed in. I'm not sure that's what Monfils is doing here, but hey maybe lol. But yeah this is ugly so far.

All right, Monfils is on the board and avoids the opening set bagel.

That was weird, Joker appeared poised to take the opening set and then proceeds to play some very loose points and Monfils breaks. Gael looks like he can't wait to get the first set over with, but Joker refuses to co-operate.
