We're talking about a guy who makes the MLB minimum, a cool $500k.

1) he can afford the suit
2) Jose could have just bought him the suit if he's that bothered.

Rogers can afford the suit too. And since they were using Travis in a paid promotional feature, they should have paid him for his use in that feature.

And this seems very much a case where Bautista felt it was a matter of principle, not money.

Mark Shapiro, the Indians' team president, will be named Toronto Blue Jays president, sources close to that team said.

The announcement is expected to come as early as this week, perhaps Monday.

Shapiro will replace Paul Beeston, the longtime Jays president who is retiring. Beeston is expected to remain through the year in Toronto, and Shapiro may start in Toronto until next season, though the exact starting date isn't known.

Shapiro, who served as GM, farm director and assistant farm director in Cleveland before becoming the team's president this decade, according to sources intends to keep Alex Anthopoulos as general manager.

Shapiro, 48, is a two-time MLB Executive of the Year, as chosen by The Sporting News.

Shapiro, who oversaw renovations at Cleveland's Progressive Field, has served as that team's president since 2010. The Indians have outperformed their low payroll (they rank in the bottom third at $80 million) at times, and made the playoffs in 2013, their first year with manager Terry Francona, who won two World Series titles in Boston, at the helm, but the Indians have found a return to the World Series elusive since appearances in 1995 and '97.

Just a look at WAR for Reyes and Tulo

Reyes

W/Jays - 0.5
W/Rox - 0.3

Tulo

W/Rox - 1.5
W/Jays - 1.3

Even though he hasn't hit worth a damn (Goins actually has a higher OPS in a Jays jersey this year), he is still worth 1 win more than Reyes has been since the time of the trade and 2 wins over the course of the season. That works out to about 14 million in value more for Tulo than Reyes and he hasn't even been very good.

Goins amusingly has been more valuable than Robinson Cano.

Nervous about this final month with so many games against the AL East. Even with Baltimore, Tampa and Boston all having bad seasons, they are still dangerous teams who aren't going to make things easy on the Jays.
