From here, it would be a 41 yarder.

I believe in the Jays.

Its not often a kicker gets to try and make up for missing a game winning FG with another game winner....in the same game.

This might be the game that gets Jim Schwartz fired. Kicking on third down from 47 yards? Throwing the challenge flag costing your team dearly? His teams are as undiscipline as he is too. At this point I can see them losing out since they now have nothing to play for.

If I were GM of a team, and my coach attempted a 47 yarder on third down in OT in that situation, the coach would be fired before the next snap. I would personally walk down to the field, and escort him out.

What a fun game to watch as somebody with no vested interest, but a horribly coached game for so many reasons. The Texans misusing the 2 minute warning, the Texans running the ball to the middle of the field on 3rd down to push the field goal to 52 yards and then of course the numerous bonehead mistakes of the Lions. One of which was just abandoning the run game in the 4th and OT after success the entire game. The Lions remain the longest lasting joke of the NFL but at least Matt Stafford looked like a half decent QB. I'm still interested to see Schuab go up against the Pats or Broncos in a shootout.

That guy just rubs me the wrong way. His body language is that of a kindergartner. He's not a good leader.

Well Schaub already beat the Broncos and faces the Pats in 2 weeks.

True but the Broncos are clearly a much different team now both offensively and defensively. Manning has really hit his stride and their defense has been arguably the best in the NFL for the last 3-4 weeks.

Horrible game. Undisciplined, bad fumble, one-dimensional offense, Austin injured again.
I wonder when the accountability will start.

Well if both teams keep rolling then we may get to see them meet in playoffs. That would be a great match-up.

All the recaps of the Texans/Lions game say Schwartz made a costly mistake, then talk about throwing the challenge flag. Of course that was costly, but it is a new rule, and I can understand forgetting a rule when emotions are high.
Not trying to gain yards on third down in OT, and instead trying a 47 yard FG is a far costlier mistake. It's a move that shows that he has ZERO football sense. It isn't surprising when coaches with zero football sense lose games. The ESPN recap, for example, doesn't even mention that Detroit's FG was attempted on third down.
Coaches really should have a common sense "consultant" beside them on the sidelines at all times.
