This was on the Edmontonsubreddit and the poster claimed this is the woman who owned the 2 Cane Corso’s that killed the 11 year old boy. What an absolutely deluded idiot.

Wow, what an idiot. One one hand, she says that dogs bite and attack, it's just what dogs do. Then she admits that it attacks males like crazy.
But she also says it was a tragic accident that couldn't be predicted. She said dogs can attack for no rhyme or reason, therefore it was unpredictable when the dogs did exactly that.
I hope she goes to jail.

Literally everyone sane could have predicted something like this. The father also had a press conference at a Canadian brew house. If this was the states, these are the same ilk of people who would own an arsenal and think it was God's will that a box of grenades went off.
You can't control stupid people, but you can limit access to damage amplifiers that they have access to.

If your dogs can kill an 11 year old boy, your dogs are at least as dangerous as a gun.
There are all kinds of guns you can own - you can’t just go out and get them.
If you want one of these monster dogs, it isn’t unreasonable to ask you to answer some pre screening questions, carry separate “dangerous dog” liability insurance and attend certified training courses to ensure your time bomb of a pet doesn’t kill someone’s child.
Failure to do so should come with severe criminal penalties.
This honestly shouldn’t be a difficult problem to solve. It seems entirely non-partisan. There’s no constitutional protection guaranteeing the right to own whatever stupid creature Joe Rogan turned you onto.
You can’t own a tiger - so clearly there exists a standard of pet that’s unacceptable.
Anything with a bite force over 300 psi requires more care and understanding on the part of the owner, and if you disagree, you shouldn’t own own an animal like that.

I don’t know why people seem to think small dog = easier. Small dog breeds like terriers are typically highly energetic, neurotic, and aggressive. They’re the farthest thing from low-maintenance.
Sure, when big dogs are aggressive it’s a much bigger problem than when small dogs are aggressive. But it’s uncommon for big dogs to be aggressive in the first place (and I’m not talking about bully breeds, I’m talking about bigger dogs in general).

Yeah but if you kick a Bichon-Poodle to stop it from licking you to death, it's gonna go away

I think the prerequisite should be that you can defeat them in combat. If you don't have the physical capability to stop an animal from causing harm or death, then you shouldn't be allowed to have them around other people or in public.
Have a special facility with trained fighting dogs. If you want to own 2 Corsos, fine, lather up in gravy and get in an octagon with them.

Kick a pit bull who’s already biting you and you’re gonna find yourself in a fight to the death quicker than you realize.

With a lot of little dogs, I feel their aggression is heavily "Napoleon complex"-based anyway.
That said, chihuahuas at some point clearly had a meeting about wanting to erase me from existence. Dogs usually love me, but that breed unanimously wants to rip my trachea out. Add them to the list with pit bulls when we're erasing breeds.

Seems almost like satire, hopefully this is not a real person/post. She is saying "it could have easily been my daughter" but also that she is, OK with that?! Insanity.

I went to the thread on r/edmonton. It's the top post right now if you're interested. It does seem to be legit.
It's penned by a trashy lady. Seems like a caricature of trash, but that's what these people - along with anybody who owns dogs like this - are. We just don't often encounter that kind of writing and thought style in our circles, but it's real AF, I believe.

It’s written by exactly the sort of person who’d have two aggressive Cane Corsos that kllled her 11 year old stepson, and it should be presented at her trial.
She admits to several things she shouldn’t.
