Funny thing at work this week- somebody mentioned their daughter (adult) bought a 4s. I mentioned something about the price point, and they said it was because of the maps. (Even though they hadn't actually tried the Apple maps.)
I hope the Google one comes out soon so I can ask how it feels to have bought a lesser phone just before the Google maps come out.

If you're a big fan of puzzles and mind games check out Puzzle Maniak. There's a couple puzzle sets in there that I'm absolutely hooked on.

Downloaded Track 8 for $2 as a replacement to the Music app. It's a clear rip-off of the Microsoft design, but man is it ever nice. The background gets auto-populated with a picture of the band which really adds a nice element. It just reads off your music app, so it's essentially just a skin. The only immediate downside I've noticed is you can't create playlists on it.

It's less than a skin, since it doesn't implement all the features of the music app; you can't rate tracks, and I'm not certain it will update the play counts in your library either - all metadata is essentially read only. I don't recall, but I don't even think the music EQ settings work in third party apps.
It bothers me to no end that you can have apps that integrate and can modify other "central" data repositories like the calendar, contacts, and tasks, but not the music library.
I do agree its extremely pretty though - if it could do half what the music app does, I'd use it full time.

Any runners out there?
Zombies, Run! app is a fun running app. You can build up your base camp to protect yourself from xombie invasion after completing "levels" (runs) and helps you train for longer runs I think up to 20km. Works with your music on your iPhone and has a little story in the background. A ton of fun so far for a task that is usually not that much fun.

Also for anyone looking to start running there is Zombies, Run! 5K Training where you start off with small runs inbetween walking. Music plays in the background when being told the story or instructions on when to run/walk.
They have a great site www.zombiesrungame.com where you can sign up and it syncs with your iPhone so it maps where you ran, what song you were listening to, pace, calories burned, etc.
I've tried a few different running apps and these two are by far the best ones for the way they make it a game not a task.

Clash of Clans is a fun little game that doesn't require too much attention. Create a base, build warriors, attack other people's bases etc.

*grumble* Apple rejected Baldur's Gate due to a show-stopping bug. Scares me that they delayed 2 months to get the bugs out only to have a show-stopper just before launch day.

Angry Birds has too many version to list and I've lost track of how many levels I have to complete on each version... but Angry Bird Star Wars is a heck of a lot of fun and breaths new life into the series.

Thanks MMF. I will download Star Wars as long as I am certain they will stop with the pop-up adds for it in the other versions. I was getting sick of getting prompted to install "Bad Piggies" when I had already bought it.
For a new driving app, I just installed Waze today. It's a GPS app, but it's also interactive. It allows you to report driving delays and does some automatically. For example when Crowchild was backed up it noticed and prompted me to report the conditions. 1 button press and my report was added.
I'm sure the data is being collected and sold to some company to report drive times, but it does also help me so it's good.
Worth noting it's also available on Android; a buddy who uses Android told me about it. It also interacts between Android and iOS.
And the best part, if you are behind some guy doing 95 in the fast lane on Deerfoot and he is using this app, it lets you text him.
