Speaking of goaltending, Knoblauch was pretty candid: "We need more saves".

Zero chance of a suspension for me, doesnt even merit any deliberation beyond the biggest oilers homers. Zadorovs cross check was maybe a 2 minute minor max, it wasnt that hard nor was mcdavid in a vulnerable position relative to the boards. mcdavids stick swing was worse.
soucy was just trying to push him back in the chest after eating the baseball swing and only caught mcdavids head because of how suddenly he went down, Zero time to adjust or intent to cross check the face. arguably happened because of how quickly mcdavid flopped when he felt the stick in the back
Finally watching the replay of the game, just saw Z throwing b*tch Kane into the bench. Big grin from Kane turns into confusion as his little brain can't process they got a penalty as well. Weasel Perry costs his team again with the stick hold. God I love Zadorov, flames drama forgiven.
I'm just happy the people that said "Oilers in 4" and "Oilers will get the gentleman's sweep" are already wrong.
I think Ryan Whitney said Oilers in 4 in an "easy" series
Canucks might still lose, but at least it should be a reality check for like 90% of the Edmonton media.
Whitney is an NHL tweener homer clown. While I think Barstool sports are funny at times, I also think of homer fourth liner clowns like him they employ that are just fanboys plugging their ex team. It's part of the appeal of Barstool right- ex pros weighing in with insight on their game (NFL, NHL)..... but often it turns into those ex-pro homers mouthing off about their team.
It’s a shame the Oilers 80s success created a bunch of bandwagon fans that that now work across Canadian hockey media. In a rational world the bigger city Canucks with their highly marketable star defenceman would be the favoured media darlings.

Guys this has nothing to do with the Oilers, this is all about the NHL and associated media trying to turn Mc Sweatpants into Gretzky 2.0, the US market is roundly deaf and blind to hockey players, Crosby and Ovie are not household names down south and Gretzky was the last and only hockey player to come anywhere close to name recognition ala basketball or football, the NHL thought a generational talent in the Oilers was a great marketing move, sadly for the NHL he's duller than paint drying and the team are run by muppets that couldn't win a 50/50 draw if they bought the only ticket
I seem to have run out of thanks (often happens on a flames win or oilers loss), but just wanted to say the last two photo montages have been stellar.
I've never seen a man more in need of an accidental cross-check to the face than McWhiner.
I hope at least one ref has the balls to call the whining little b*tch an unsportmanlike for whining too much.
Normally Gazdic is pretty objective, though to his credit he doesn't disguise he's a No-Good alumni with buddies on the team. Tonight his blue and orange colours showed through. No-Goods were so hard done-by tonight apparently. F the oilers.

I get where the league is coming from, McDavid is the best player to never have been in a final, and they want to show him off on the biggest stage.
Where is the love for Quinn Hughes though? He’s just as marketable being an elite talent and American. Add in the brotherly connection and having some looks and personality and you wonder why the NHL media doesn’t have more focus on him.

Skinner wasn't great by any means but the first 3 goals weren't even close to soft. 1st was screened and tipped, 2nd defensive gaffe leaves Boeser wide open, 3rd brutal giveaway leaves Boeser wide open and even the 4th was on the PP with Lindholm making a great play. Pull him, trash his confidence, play Pickard and then complain when he can't stop a beach ball, it's the oiler way.

Remember 4.5ish hours ago when Connor McDavid got a cross-check to the back and face simultaneously by Zadorov & Soucy after two-handing Soucy with a slash???
*I know we all remember, but I want to remind myself/us every few hours*
