Wow I hadn’t heard those stats before and he’s just back from injury so these stats could keep climbing the more comfortable he gets. Unfortunately being an Oilers/Jays fan I’ll always be worried that they’ll find some way to screw this up.

Guerrero is very promising. Jays still have to work on their top calibre prospects though. Imagine Harper on this team? They'd still be where they are currently. Baseball has never been about 1 or 2 players - the full team has to be solid, and the Jays really have to deal a few prospects with high ceilings to get guys with super ceilings to compete from building within. Cultivating guys who are just about average won't win you a championship.

Baseball America just updated their organizational rankings, and the Jays are now third.
1. Padres
2. Rays
3. Jays
4. White Sox
5. Braves
That prospect pool being ranked does not include Gurriel and Borucki as they are now on the MLB roster, which is all very impressive.
5 Top 100 Prospects: 3B Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (1), SS Bo Bichette (5), RHP Nate Pearson (68), C Danny Jansen (71), SS Kevin Smith (84).

Sure but they already have already more high end prospects than most organizations. If anything the issue is that they are heavy on position players and pitching is weak. But I like the idea of just focusing on adding good prospects regardless of where they play.
But my point is that when you are starting with a prospect like Vlad Jr you are already well ahead of where most teams are at this stage of a re-build.

Jays have a chance to do something special if they do the rebuild properly. In hindsight not trading Donaldson in the off season was a huge miss but oh well.
They really need to build for 4 years from now. Look at the Angel's and how they have wasted the best player in baseball's prime years. That's a case study for the Jay's on what not to do.

It feels like some may have a bit of an unrealistic benchmark here.
Jays are #3 in Baseball America and 5th in MLB.com and in both cases have 5 players (not always the same 5 either) in the top 100. In both of those lists that number is among the best in baseball. They've also got one of the top 2b prospects in baseball in Biggio (9th according to MLb.com) and their recent first round pick hitting the cover off the ball in his pro debut.
I can get behind the argument they need some pitching but I also think they have more depth there than people give them credit for, especially with SRF pitching really well in AAA and the acquisition of Hector Perez.

Well no they won't... but they get you closer to the mark. No team has nothing but stars so you need to get average guys to fill around the stars that you can get. But yes... you do need stars to get you the rest of the way there.
Take the 2015 Jays... who could have won a championship (won the devision and had the talent, but not the luck, to win it all). They had 5.5 "star" or above level players (Price was the 0.5... not counting him as a full star because he was a deadline acquisition) and the rest of the team was average (in aggregate).
Edit: And welcome to the Major Leagues Thomas Pannone (got called up today).

Grichuk with another laser beam. Wow.
Remember how slow he started? What a turn around. With his defense and speed he is looking like he'll be a useful player for a while.

Ben Nicholson Smith sent out a tweet saying that Pannone will go to the bullpen, can't hurt because the bullpen is bad and Smith also mentioned that Sean Reid-Foley might be coming up for the Monday start.
Edit: Vladdy just hit another HR.

It’s honestly pretty difficult to put into words just how good Vlad’s season has been. For the sake of comparison… 19-year-old Mike Trout .307/.385/.492 at Double-A and saw 40 games with the Angels in September. 19-year-old Miguel Cabrera had a .365/.429/.609 line in Double-A before getting the call mid-way through the season to help the Marlins win the 2003 World Series. 18-year-old (!!!) A-Rod posted a .312/.376/.577 line between three levels before getting a cup of coffee with the Mariners. He then slashed, as a 19-year-old, .360/.411/.654 in in 54 Triple-A games before permanently getting called up. And so on and so on. The fact Vlad Jr. is flirting with a .400 batting average right now is nothing short of insane.

My favorite stat is that Giles has not blown a save all year
Era of 0.00 in save situation and a million in non-save situations.

Jaw dropping how slow Morales is.
In the future I would like to see a team with a bit more athleticism. Vlad is a stud with the bat but doesn't look like he will ever be a beast on the basepaths, which is fine! But watching guys like Smoak, Martin, Morales, Solarte etc lumber around the bases is getting old. All I would like is just a little bit more speed on the bases please!
