But you can't die on every hill - you have to pick your battles. Considering Rogers owns the team, this will likely come back to bite him at some point.
And I doubt Travis is financially burdened by the situation (I know that's not the point but nonetheless...)

I doubt it comes back to bite him, they're a number of teams who would be happy with his services.
I doubt Rogers would be financially burdened by paying for it, they have a 17 billion dollar market cap ffs.

And Travis got himself a nice suit.
I would imagine your employer is a rather large company as well - do they pay for your suits? (and I would guess you probably make less than Travis - no offence intended)
My only point here is that there is really no issue here so Bautista is being a hero for nothing.
Jose doesn't care for the media it seems, so probably looking for any reason to not have to talk to them.
Frankly he seems like a bit of a knob.
I don't care though as long as he continues to hit bombs.
Problem is that it is a fight between a rich company and a rich guy over who should be an expensive suit.
But the way Jose is choosing to fight this is by punishing the fans, who would like to hear from him.
Just stupidity all around.

Not really. He's giving other media outlets access, just not Sportsnet.
Personally, I think this goes deeper than just Sportsnet being cheapskates about making a rookie pay for a suit they asked him to buy in a segment that was little more than a paid advertising feature.
Bautista was one of several Jays who was pissed last year when Rogers refused to open the wallet when the team was contending for a wildcard spot at the deadline. And if he wants to make a point about how Rogers is a company of cheap #######s, I'll support him all the way.
But it is also pretty obvious that next year will be his last in Toronto.

I seem to be the minority here, but I agree with Bautista and what he did.
They asked Devon to do a promotional piece with a vendor. He agrees, but has to pay for the product that he is advertising for them?
And it seems that this occurred months ago and only now did we find out about the situation. So to me, it seems like Bautista tried to resolve it without bringing it up to the media and when it didn't look like that was going to work, he shed some more light on it.
I get that these players are making a lot, but if my employer asked me to do a promo for one of our partners, but made me pay $5.00 for their product that was being used in the promo, I wouldn't be too happy about it.
