Based on his outfit he might have just been working out as well in which case the post workout swoll would be kind of misleading.

Oh god. Not this again.

First that ridiculous and unsightly picture of MSL, and now the revival of this weird inclination for Gaudreau to develop massive leg muscles.

In the first place, Gaudreau is fine. Second, he does not have a frame or a build that will likely support all the added muscle mass that you see in the picture. One of Gaudreau's most impressive strengths is his ability to maneuver in traffic and to avoid contact. I think there is a real concern about how effective he would be with much added size and weight.

Just stop, please.

He has 15 seasons of training to do. I'm sure he can get there.

Gaudreau is good. He would be better is he had more time on the puck and could ride a check. I wouldn't be surprised to see Johnny hit 180 or more in his career.

Must be very strange to come on here and see people analyzing your arm in a random picture.

Mark Jankowski is really good at playing hockey. He is better than he was last season.

2 goals, 5 assists in 3 games played.

Currently tied for third overall in the NCAA Division I for both points and points per game. Tied for second overall for most assists and tied for first overall in assists per game.

Providence was voted the third best team in the NCAA in this week's USCHO.com College Poll.

It was a rally for the basketball team at the College called "Late Night Madness", and the hockey team showed up with the Championship trophy: http://www.friars.com/sports/m-baskb...101715aaa.html

I'm not sure why they're all in track suits.

With Gillies not there anymore, Jankowski towers over the rest of the team.

I applied for a position at Providence a couple weeks ago. It is a private, undergraduate liberal arts college with Dominican roots. Enrolment is under 4000.

There's a great article posted in the back burner by Getbak that i believe should be posted here as well.

http://www.providencejournal.com/art...51029717/13933

Quote:
The 6-foot-3 centerman, who has always had very soft hands, is bigger and stronger. With increased muscle has come a more powerful skating stride.

“That’s the big thing -- his strength,’’ says Leaman. “He came in as a weak freshman at 170 (pounds). The next year he played at 180, then 190, and this year he’s playing at 200, 205. That’s the difference.

“He’s always had the game, but he didn’t have the strength to get to the right areas on the ice. He didn’t have the strength to hold onto pucks, to win his battles, to win his faceoffs. I think he can dominate in the traffic areas, where in the past he was getting pushed to the outside. The vision and the skill have always been there.’’

Jankowski can feel the difference. “It’s a huge change from freshman year to now. Now I can use my body to protect pucks and get to the net-front and win battles there for rebounds and second chances. It’s been a real help,’’ he said.

Despite the continued longshot predictions by lots of posters going simply by his draft position and I guess countering the optimism by Feaster and other posters back in the day, it's honestly starting to look like he's on track to become a top 9 forward with potential of being a regular top 6 guy, depending on how things progress.

I think we've got a legitimate NHL hockey player in him, at this point.

Mark Jankowski on TSN 1260
https://soundcloud.com/pipeline-show...ankowski-nov10

winning the championship was really rewarding
a special feeling that makes us hungry to do it again

how he has changed since 1st year in college: a lot bigger and stronger
first came to Providence was 170lbs, now closer to 200lbs

definitely thinks it his year to be a leader

sticking to the process, take it day by day
being ranked #1 team is nice, but we will see where it is at the end of the year

pride ourselves on be a hardworking gritty team
trying to be team that never gives up and plays a physical 60

teams are gunning for Providence, we have to expect that ever time we play the other guys are bringing their A game

starting to wrap up the non-conference games, and moving heavily into Hockey East games

Leaman has been tremendous
when Janko first arrived, Leaman was hard on him for his strength and conditioning
play in all 3 zones is something they both take pride in

wants to be a good defensive center that the coach can rely on in all scenarios and roles

tries not to think about his impending pro career
focused on the Friars

asked if it was always his plan to do 4 years of college:
went into college with no timeline
no one knows how quickly they are going to develop
take it 1 year at a time
obviously a degree is important to him and his family - whether he left early or not he was going to finish his degree

if he feels any pressure from Flames fans, being a former 1st round pick, or Jay Feaster's comments at the draft:
not really
can only control what he can control - his work ethic, trying to get better
don't really look at outside comment and what other people are saying

definitely follows the Flames and NHL hockey in general
followed the Flames quite a bit this year

where he sees him next year (AHL or NHL):
every kid wants to play in the NHL and his ultimate goal
whether he is in the NHL will depend on him and his work ethic and how hard I really want it
