if RM was more attractive to Bale he would be forcing a move, it's pretty simple
RM was more attractive to CR7 he forced a move
the number of players who have gone to RM and then been pushed out or benched is remarkable enough that unless you are on the absolute top level
just in the last 3-4 years Huntelaar, Cassano, Altintop, Sahin, Robben, Van der Vaart....
a player like Bale who from everything you hear is basically a homebody who's version of a vacation is to go back to Wales, with a kid less than 6 months old, I don't think a move to Madrid is ideal for him for at least 2 more years when his family is settled

For Cesc, he has had to play the waiting game on the national team, and not he's having to play it on a club team
his motivation is completely different
Cesc wants to start for a big team, but he also wants to win trophies and he's comfortable in England
I think if SAF was still there it's a slam dunk he goes to United, but with Moyes who knows, RVP being there must help a lot
Going back to Arsenal might also be viewed on as him 'failing' at Barca and going back to where it's safe, where as going to United is a sideways move from Barca
a midfield trio of Cesc/Fellani/Carrick would be outstanding for United, arguably 2nd or 3rd best in Europe

United can likely offer Cesc higher wages and more silverware.

Loyalty. While Barca is his real home, Arsenal became a second home for Cesc and it has a place in his heart. It's about not turning your back on family and Cesc is deffo a part of the Arsenal family.

Loyalty in football can be summed up in two words: Sol Campbell.

You probably did as many fans believed RvP would stay. However, I think realistic supports hoped it wouldn't happen but thought that it could especially when it started to drag out. With Cesc I honestly don't think it would happen but I could very well be reading our relationship or the situation incorrectly. It wouldn't be the first time in my life, there are numerous women than can verify this...

United aren't winning silverware next season.
Neither are Arsenal.

agree with that, or at least don't see it as likely with Moyes unless the MF is fixed

I cant see Cesc turning down United for Arsenal. I think his Arsenal days are done and with RvP at United and the complete lack of competition for his preferred playing position there, I really see him moving there if the money is right.
And the money has to be right, United arent going to be getting SAF discounts for a while.

It's an ok city, that's it. Nothing on London though.
Personally I think United could do a lot worse than signing someone like Wanyama.

so if Suarez leaves this summer after this...
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22712272
Quote:
He told Uruguayan radio station Radio sport 890: "I've talked to my agent, there's nothing concrete.
"It would be very difficult to say no to Real Madrid."...
Suarez, who joined Liverpool from Ajax in 2011, admitted the criticism he has received from the English media has made him "tired".
The Uruguay international continued: "I'm happy at Liverpool thanks to the fans. I have committed an error, I am human, but they've talked about me in ways they shouldn't have.
"My family have suffered and things have gone beyond the limits.
|
would Liverpool fans react to the media on whole rationally?

He committed AN error?
I know English isn't his first language but he does realize that an does not mean several right?

Sky's La Liga guy on Cesc
Quote:
But Balague told Sky Sports News of Fabregas: "He is surprised by the rumours that are so strong in England.
"The club has definitely told me this evening that they have got no intention whatsoever of selling him.
"His buyout clause, in case anybody is interested, is €200million (£171m), which is a little bit expensive. In any case it is a deterrent for people to come and try to poach him away.

Suarez
Quote:
Guillem Balague @GuillemBalague
Luis Suarez: "It is not true I have an agreement with Real Madrid. I am thinking about my future but I haven't decided anything yet"
...which means: it is not sure Luis Suarez will stay at Liverpool or that he is going (or not) to Madrid. Worrying to LFC fans though
|
and another Liverpool signing from Sevilla
Quote:
Guillem Balague @GuillemBalague 18h
Luis Alberto (Barcelona B) is the other Spanish player that is about to agree to join Liverpool. A midfielder in the Xavi/Iniesta mould
Luis Alberto can play midfield/forward and is on loan from Sevilla. So it wasnt in the hands of FCB. Great buy by Liverpool
More on Luis Alberto. He can play in two of 3 postions in 4-3-3 midfield, as false 9 or winger. Quality in set pieces.
Only thing that would stop Luis Alberto signing for Liverpool is if FCB activate a clause. But great football eye by Brendan and LFC
