There was also a Tramps of 17th ave. Just west of the ski cellar I think.

Randomly... I can't believe the skill of old-school cartographers who worked without the benefit of aerial or satellite imagery, electronic surveying devices, computers, photocopiers, etc... I'm looking at an 1860s vintage map of the USA right now and at first glance, it looks perfect.

Anyone else ever do that? Or even remember the store?

Hahaha! I used to live by there and, oh yes, I even did that a few times myself.
Note to stores: You dont need to buy the heavy-ass plywood...that was torture. Card-stock would do the trick.

I would have used the "here be dragons" stencil a lot more than they did.

As a comic-book fan, Tramps.....my God....
That place was essentially 'The Android's Dungeon' in real life and the people who worked there (not the sandwich-board kids) were real-life Comic Book Guy.

I remember tramps having a 50% off everything in the store sale every Boxing Day or New Year’s Day.
They also had a gumball machine and if you got a gumball that was wrapped in tinfoil you’d win a free used CD. They didn’t really think that one through though because it was surprisingly easy to bring in a small piece of tinfoil and wrap the gumball with it while the clerks weren’t looking.

Can a pharmacist prescribe a basic antibiotic these days? Or do you have to go to your doctor?

only some pharmacists are qualified to prescribe, but not many. You'd have better luck going to a walk-in. Sometimes with a good enough story and some lung-butter samples they won't even test your spitum.

I’ve used two prescribing pharmacists and know a third. There are many - at least here.

You may be overwhelmed by how underwhelmed you are by it.
In other firsts, I ate my first oyster at Taste of Calgary. I decided to take the plunge and give one a try. I hadn't really been avoiding them, but they're pretty gross looking and I never felt the urge to eat them. I was pleasantly surprised. Anyway, another life achievement unlocked.
Random thought - if you put a down-payment on a vehicle for that specific model year, what happens if there isn't enough supply for that year? Do you get dibs on the next year model at the stipulated price, or is the contract nullified?

They will roll you into the next model year but price could change based on any base price increases or changes in option packages.

A deep fried oyster Po' Boy is exceptional.
Difficult to find on a menu, and difficult to do well, but when nail it is amazing

Yeah, my wife had a deep fried oyster burger in Victoria one time and it was one of the worst smelling foods. I have encountered, kind of like stinky tofu.
