I will say this, there's nothing shady at all about a judicial system where you're sentenced 3 days after the event.

You're partially right in my opinion. Cash rules football but from very reputable sources it was very important for Havertz to be playing Champions League Football. Like I said thats my opinion.
In all of this I think that the Thiago Silva signing is extremely shrewd business. With the huge money Chelsea spent up front having a reliable CB that can bring some stability to the chaos that was Chelsea's back end is enormous. I'm not listening to any of the age complaints right now. He can still play.
Chelsea will be getting a new GK as well so once that is done they have certainly closed the gap on City and Liverpool. They will challenge for the league again very soon.

Maguire "withdrawn" from England squad.
No big deal. The right PR move.

Southgate is an idiot for calling him up in the first place and now having to do a u-turn just hours later.

United sign Henderson to a new 6 year contract ... hell of a statement. Super happy with that.

Gonna be an interesting season with both of them on the squad.
Exit/sell Romero asap. He deserves it.

What's so special about Henderson that would make you super happy?
I'm happy he's locked up to keep him on the books for a bit but I feel the price and term are too much/long. As far as I see at the moment, he's a decent ok keeper. Nothing more.

23 year old, coming off a really good season where he was one of the best goalkeepers in the league. What's not to like? Plus De Gea has been on the decline for a while, so it's good to have the heir apparent on contract instead of having to sign one for a lot of money, no?

And yet he dealt with the crazy Bayern attack very well. He had a great CL final. Where Barcelona was really exposed was on the wings, particularly R (from defensive point of view). I think Thiago had a terrific game, which is funny to say about a CB in an 8-2 loss. I think that's
shrewd business for Chelsea.

I didn't say I didn't like him.
He's had a decent season, yes. He was good, yes. But I didn't see anything that would put him in one of the best goalkeepers in the league category.
Maybe it's Sheff Us way of playing but all I see is a hoof it keeper. Nor do I see someone that controls their area.
Not saying he's a bad keeper, just saying he hasn't done anything exceptional to get me excited at the moment.
But yeah, good to see him locked up although I think the figure and term is from him negotiating from a position of strength......and Woodward....

Matt Doherty to spurs should be wrapped up asap according to the athletic and a bunch of other places
Really good signing, only 15m, was a top 5 attacking rb in europe I believe last year by some of the fancy stats, much less prone to mistakes than aurier
Grab a backup striker and lets go

so Doherty to Spurs and Maitland-Niles to Wolves, it seems. Think Doherty works best in a back three, so interesting to see how Mourinho is approaching this.

The cool part of this sale is that Beohemian F.C. gets a 10% sell on fee. Club was in dire straights, became fan owned, and have basically righted the ship after clearing millions in debt from. This is a massive amount of money for a League of Ireland club, their typical annual revenues are half of the expected fee.
But more than anything, it's the fact it's a clause from ten years ago that they're cashing in on. A sale at any point in the non-premier league years would probably see a fee in the tens of thousands, and have just been lost in all the takeover costs and debt clearing. Now it can all go into building the club more, which is pretty cool.
