LOL I didn't even give that more thought. I was more focused on the tire situation and not the fact that Canyon Meadows doesn't merge on to Deerfoot.

Yeah, bow bottom to deerfoot north is ######ed each morning. It's like every turns stupid as they round the corner onto deerfoot.
As you come off anderson everyone's going 80-90, then as anderson and bow bottom meet up, it actually starts to go faster, as the bow bottom guys are usually going closer to 90-95.
So now everyone's at a good merging speed, but then because there's a corner, there's always a few strugglers that slow down. So at this point you watch your speedometer go 95, 90, 85, 80, and we're usually going about 70 to 75 by the time we meet up with deerfoot.

Who said I cut them off? I don't. And I can recognize when a wide load semi needs to go a little slower versus a dummy in a Corolla. My ranting is about the dummy in the Corolla and I've been speaking in somewhat general terms. If I haven't been clear about that, hopefully now I've made the distinction clear.

My point has been slower traffic keep right and the left lane is for passing. I don't ever speed that fast - 99% of the time I'm less than 10% over the limit if at all.

I think some of those strugglers have been nabbed by cops that like to hang out there. That's one of the fishing holes that GMG. Everyone knows that the limit on Deerfoot is 100, so people start to speed up, but wait! It's still only 80 for the next 100 meters! Here's a ticket!

do you even know what you write?
i quoted this post, and its clearly not about a Corolla driver

With RVs, it is so lame of people to buy a giant trailer and pull it with their underpowered tow vehicle and then cruise around the mountains 30 km/h or less under the speed limit. If you can't keep up, get off the road. Why would you even defend some a-hole like that?

I also find that on the Edmonton drive things get a few degrees stupider as you get closer to each city. Leduc going North and Airdrie going South are where the highway norms seem to be tossed out of the window. I understand that there's naturally more volume and much of that is comprised of bedroom community leeches (I kid) using it for a few kilometres, but the number of left lane strugglers and erratic/aggressive/daydreaming drivers is noticeably higher as you approach each city. You can have the most stress-free jaunt up to Edmonton but as soon as you hit Leduc/Nisku everything goes to crap.

I have to say I drive more highway miles than most, and most of the time when passing I'll let faster cars by if there is room. But if I'm passing a group of cars going fast enough to pass them with ease I'm not going to make the effort of saving you 2 seconds of your life. Adding variables now, especially on winter roads too.
And thanks to Woob and Pinner for understanding

I agree with everything you've said except for this. I think it's backwards to blame the person 'driving poorly' for a road rage incident when it is the person raging that is in control of their reaction. Sure, it's frustrating when someone is pokin' along doing 90 in the left lane of Deerfoot, but we all have the ability to choose how we react to it. The struggler may be the catalyst for the reaction, but the reaction is still the responsibility for the creation of the road rage.
I have no problem admitting I used to be an Amateur Traffic Police Officer. After maturing out of that, my primary focus while driving is to make sure that I get where I am going safely, that I don't cause unsafe conditions for anyone else, and that I don't impede other people who are only trying to get to their destination (as I am). After taking this view, and reforming from my previous immature and foolish ways, I find driving is much more enjoyable and far less stressful. Less on edge.
I try not to speed, but that being said, I also try not to force my desire to travel the speed limit on anyone else. Anyone claiming "the left lane isn't for speeding so I can go whatever speed I want in it" is either being wilfully ignorant or has been living in a vacuum their entire life.

Folks: Go the speed limit whenever safe to do so. It's not an egregious denial of inalienable personal rights. It makes it better for your fellow drivers.
Obviously, there are other issues that constitute poor driving habits. Those are separate issues that obfusticate the original post.
