How are you guys getting subtitles in your m4v files? As I understand m4v containers support .srt subtitle files, and I can mux them in using mkvtoolnix but AppleTV isn't picking them up. They display fine in VLC and mplayer.

There were 9 in stock at the South Trail London Drugs (130th Ave SE) at 5:30 tonight.

I am enjoying mine so far.

I'm having a heck of a time getting movies to play in iTunes. MPV's just don't add to the library. Does Handbreak not work as well as iFlicks?

You mean MKV? To use Handbrake you have to re-encode them to MP4, then add them to iTunes.

iFlicks allows you to bypass re-encoding so instead of an hour it takes minutes to add an MKV to iTunes with metadata.

So I downloaded iFlicks. First movie I tried to convert from .mkv to an Apple TV version said 'This file is not a movie file'. So frustrating when things don't work.

Also tried converting a small .avi file. The movie that was converted into iTunes had no picture or sound.

Obviously I'm doing something wrong..But the program seems pretty straight forward.

For avi's you need to install Perian, and use the AppleTV setting. For an MKV use "Flatten to quicktime".

And you need to use the beta for the MKV support. Current release doesn't support it.

The thread topic has become slightly misleading ... That's like saying the iPhone is capable of wireless tethering and wireless syncing. It is, but not without a jailbreak.

Highly doubt the price of that will change as atvFlash is nothing new. Pretty sure the old one was $25. I could see it dropping to that maybe. removed for untruthiness.

Everything on the original atvFLash was available free, atvFlash just bundled it up in a easy to use install.

it'll happen with this too, atvFlash will just lead in simplicity.

So everything atvFlash offers is available for free, but if you want the easy to install bundle you have to pay $50?

Yep, but it comes with better support and easier updating of apps.

I'll change it.

The iPhone isn't capable of wireless tethering?

By default you can tether over Bluetooth or USB, to enable the iPhone to create a wifi hotspot it needs to be jailbroken.

No, it's the one feature of my friends Nexus One that really makes me jealous. I had my phone jailbroken for a long time with the ability to wirelessly tether and it was a bloody dream.

I was being facetious. Wireless tethering is different from being a wireless hotspot.

Dammmit ... now we need to give facetious a text color. Magenta. Facetiousness shall now be magenta.

I'm getting the error "file is not a movie file" in iFlicks today. Got it with two separate MKV files on shows I download regularly, from the same rippers, and there's been no posted change in profile.

Has anyone else seen this error?

ETA: Hmm changed my device in iFlicks from "AppleTV" to "Flatten to Quicktime File" (seem to remember someone suggesting that a few pages back) and all is well.
