I guess you're right redforever. Just look at the opportunity for learning about racism and tolerance etc. was missed here. Sad. The adults dropped the ball.
Perhaps they were right and it was a racial thing, I am not fully aware of all the circumstances of your situation at the time.

However, that does not absolve them of their duties, and those duties were addressing your needs and putting an end to the bullying.

And yes, you are so right, there were many missed opportunities. Hope you are doing well and are not walking around with any guilt, because you were not the guilty party.

Well I do know none of those girls ended up doing too well. But I still need to grow more backbone or whatever you call it.

Perhaps you do need to grow more backbone as you call it, but also keep in mind, that not all of us need to be leaders or are born to be leaders.

However, most of us are born with some special little gift, where we can shine. Find yours and I think you will stand tall in that activity.

Also, keep in mind that some of us make good followers. And there is nothing wrong with being a go to person, who can be trusted to get the job done.

Hey I'm not shy when I sing "Cherry Bomb". Which is probably before most of the CPers time.

I'm not talking about some grade 11 course worth 3 credits. If I understand correctly, courses involving proper use of technology will continue throughout Jr high and some of high school.

There was a short time when I was bullied in grade 6. Group of 2 or 3 guys and one of their girlfriends would constantly harass my brother and I.

One lunch they were waiting for us so we set a trap where I hid behind a motorhome and tripped the first one that came past... turns out it was the girl and she fell and broke her arm. I was taken into the principles office when her dad complained and they quickly realized it was her fault and her dad started giving her crap for wasting his time.

The bullying stopped because it was brought to light and dealt with on a combined parent/school level.
