as someone who is too cheap to buy anything from apple, i certainly don't follow things much.

but i still don't see how this new product is going to revolutionize anything? am i missing something here?

I think the idea is that you won't have to carry around your macbook.

Keyboarding one the screen should work just fine, unless you can type really fast.

It isn't. Thats why we're all not ejaculating on our keyboards right now.

I think they saved it with the data and pricing
althought why the heck is it $120 for a 3g chip
that is complete bs imo

700 with 3g with 64gb would have been amazing.

I take it I didnt miss the camera announcement - so no camera?

Hmm I wonder if Bluetooth tehering to the iPhone will be allowed. That way don't have to buy the 3g version

At $499, it just blew the Netbook and eBook Reader markets out of the water!

What would you rather have? A tiny low powered laptop for $400, a B&W eBook Reader for $400, or an iPad for $500?

64 gigs is pretty effin small when you think that this is marketed as an HD video device.

That's the thing right there. Every other manufacturer just shat their pants. They can't compete with the brand power.

that's US dollars, Apple usually marks it up selling in Canada. I would guess $599 Canadian for the base. To me it's not bad product, I own an iPhone and a macbook so the only way I see this being any use to me is if I can get the 3G on it, highly doubt though 3G will be only $30 a month in Canada.

Let's say $749 for the base 3G model in Canada, $45 Canadian a month for the 3G, just seems to be getting a bit expensive.

Also, a Kindle is $259 not $400, and I still don't see myself being able to read for extended periods of time on the iPad as it's backlit and seems like it would be too heavy for that.

last month i bought my wife a very nice toshiba laptop with a core 2 duo and 15.6" screen for $500... aside from being a hip and trendy tablet computer, how is the iTampon an upgrade?

(please note i am just making fun of the name, not trying to slam apple or anything)
