Searchers have found two bodies and a briefcase containing a ticket for Air France Flight 447 in the Atlantic Ocean close to where the jetliner is believed to have crashed, a Brazil military official said Saturday.
Also
The French agency investigating the disaster, meanwhile, said the airspeed instruments on Flight 447 were not replaced as the maker recommended before the plane crashed in turbulent weather nearly a week ago.
The French accident investigation agency, BEA, found the doomed plane received inconsistent airspeed readings by different instruments as it struggled in a massive thunderstorm on its flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris with 228 people aboard.

It's at the bottom of the ocean. I'm not sure if we have the capability to search through wreckage on the ocean floor, especially in the middle of the Atlantic.

I went through this whole thread thinking it was breaking news. Then I saw a post from Flop and realized I had wasted way too much time on a bumped oldie. /facepalm.

My bad, I must have read an earlier version of the article because it didn't say any of this when I read it.

I would be very suprised to not see the French governmetn pay for this. It would be extremely disrespectful to the familie to not make any attempt to investigate or recover the remains.

I read a while ago Airbus are paying a good chunk of the bill as well. They need to find out what happen to this airplane.

Both Air France and Airbus are footing the bill. They want to figure out what happened after having manslaughter charges brought up against them recently.

Yeah, very strange accident, It's like 1 in many millions a thunderstorm could bring down an airliner at that altitude.

I was reading this thinking "I haven't heard about any planes going down recently like this..." and then realized, like most folks, it was an old thread. Glad they found the plane though, and hope that they can figure out what went wrong.

I made it to Flip's first post. Then looked at the date of the post and realized I had wasted my time. This happens to me way to often for it to be coincidence.

I looked at it and thought to myself: God ANOTHER one?!
Then I click on the thread and looked at the date.
That is definitely a strange occurrence though, I don't think anybody was actually clear on what exactly happened. I hope they find the cause.

I know I am responding to an old post, but for what it's worth, my brother-in-law is an aviation mechanic and he has to blow into a breathalyzer every morning. He said even if you are hung over from the night before, you would still blow over.
