Disneyland beats Disneyworld.

What a game last night. Magic choked with all the missed free throws.

I agree, if that elbow was on Kobe, it would've been called for sure

Seriously.
If the elbow was on Kobe, the call would have been made? The Lakers were getting screwed on tons of calls yesterday along with Orlando. Kobe's hand with a jumper from the top of the key by Pietrus, Pau getting elbowed in the back by Dwight Howard and Derek Fisher getting the foul, and a jersey grab by Howard while Pau was attempting a rebound. It went both ways.

Haha yeah you nailed it. I don't know what is worse, NBA reffing or the absurd comments about Lakers being favored. IF anyone actually watched the game there were a ton of garbage calls against the Lakers.

The issue is with consistency with NBA reffing. They didn't favor the Lakers, they are just always inconsistent. Lakers won, so suck it up Laker haters, don't come up with lame excuses.

That's the answer. I guess it happens in the NHL too. The refs put their whistles away in the OT frame, and the Magic plan was to drive and get Gasol/Odom/Fisher/Ariza fouled out. Had they sent the memo to the magic saying "I don't care what happens we're not calling fouls in the OT frame", maybe they would've taken their open shots instead of driving the lane into a ton of contact, or trying to draw offensive fouls.

I don't think there was favoritism. They just completely changed the way that they called the game in OT, and it just so happened that it benefited the Laker plan (which was to take jump shots) much more so than the Magic plan (get the Lakers fouled out).

Either way I'm the first to admit the Magic should've won this before OT and maybe experience or lack of execution caused them to buckle. They've basically given away 2 games this series, which is why I'm kind of amused at all the "Lakeshow" fans that the Magic are somehow so much worse than them. Funny enough, the Lakers took two more 3's than the Magic that game.

I agree with pretty much everything you said. I have definitely been impressed with the Magic thus far, they were damn close to winning games 2 and 4. I just hate it when fans say the refs purposely favored the Lakers when if they actually watched the game they would see that the reffing was horrible and inconsistent all night long. Some terrible calls for both teams, it just so happens the Lakers got a break or 2 in OT that cost Orlando.

At the end of the day poor FT shooting and a bad defensive plan (Nelson standing inside the 3 pt line on fisher) led to a critical loss. I personally think the series is over, but the Magic are still only down 3-1 and they have battled back from some pretty bad losses earlier in the postseason so we'll have to see what happens!

IMHO fouls to the face area should be called no matter what! Almost like in baseball where you beam the batter, fine to hit him is the butt but once you get close to the face it's a no-no.

I'm all for letting the players decide stuff but some of the fouls they aren't calling tonight are just silly. It's happening both ways - clear hacks - not being called.

A little stupid.

I have to agree. I don't know, as a player, how they should play. If you're allowed to hack and hit, they should be doing that every time, but who knows when they're going to start calling them again.

Also, nice flop Fisher!

The Lakers masterfully put together a great close out game. They played tough defense all game and never panicked even when down early in the game. After putting together a big rally in the 2nd quarter and into the 2nd half, the Lakers smelled blood and kept their foot on the throat of Orlando the rest of the way.

Great games all around for the Lakers' starters; Pau had 14 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks. Lamar hit a couple of back-to-back, daggers from the corner for 6 of his 17 points and 10 rebounds. Ariza (15 pts.) hit some big shots down the stretch and Fish (13 pts.) was holding it down, keeping Jameer Nelson and Rafer at bay.

The great thing about this Game 5 win was that it wasn't all Kobe and the Lakers played together like a unit. Kobe did however, lead this team the entire playoff, especially tonight and pushed his teammates to be great. He still had an impressive game with 30 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 rebounds while winning the newly named, Bill Russell Finals MVP trophy. He further proved to me today that he is the best player in the NBA today and has put a stamp on being #10 on the greatest of all-time list.

The Lakers just wanted it more and they were hungrier to win it all tonight. There were moments when the Magic were only down by 6 and you could see on their faces that they had already lost the game. Howard checking into the game in the 4th, Rafer at the line, attempting a free throw, Rashard Lewis' after missing a short jumper - They were defeated after the Lakers' run. I feel for them. A great season and alot of things to look forward to in this organization. Cleveland is in trouble and it won't be that easy for them to win the East.

Congrats, Los Angeles!! And congratulations to Kobe for his 4th and The Zen Master for his 10th title.

Phil Jackson is the greatest coach of all-time, but in the league right now, Gregg Popovich and Jerry Sloan would probably have something to say about it.

Perfect road game for the Lakers, so glad Kobe won that elusive 4th Championship!! His teammates and nothing but positives to say about him too, I love it!

Well, at least the Magic managed to win a game in the Finals this go-round.

Will Kobe ask Shaq to tell him how his ass tastes now???

Yes finally, after that loss last year, made up for with this easy close out game. I was never in doubt even after taht hot start by the Magic, we calmly came back and set up a lead and won the championship.

I feel happy for that entire time especially Kobe, he was awesome, and teh best closer in the game closed it for the title. #4 is home now the Lakers and fans enjoy this one, and then start focus on #16 and #5 for Kobe next year.
