Marvin Harrison has been released from the Colts.
Apparently Sage Rosenfels is now the Vikings saviour at QB.

He isn't bad. With the exception of the Colts game last season when he tried to become a human highlight reel resulting in two unnecessary fumbles.

But he isn't exactly a world beater either.
I can't beleive this team hasn't addressed it's QB of the future situation. I swear if they stick with Tarvaris, my head might explode.

You would know more about what is going on with the Vikings than I would. To me it sounds like the Vikings think their time is now. As a result they don't have the patience to draft and develop a young QB. They are probably under the assumption that a reliable veteran starter is what they need to plug into the offense right now to try and get to the Super Bowl. I watched the Chiefs do this for 20 years under Carl Peterson.

Well I wish they realized this before the Tarvaris Jackson experiment. And I'm not saying I don't like Tarvaris, but just the process that the team went through to get him, pissed me off a whole lot.
They traded 2 third round picks to move UP in the 2nd round to take a guy who was projected to go in Round 4-7.
One of many reaches by the current "Triangle of Authority".....Ryan Cook being another one.

The guys that know the good their celeb can do are the best. It sucks that there seems to be an exclamation point on bad behaviours when great stuff like this is usually reserved for page 12 of the sports section.
I certainly have had a much easier life than the young man in this article has had, but I remember what it was like to meet some of my sports heroes. You remember it forever. For some of us lucky people, it happens multiple times.
82 or 83, I'm in Edmonton watching Montreal play the Oilers. It's warmup, so I'm down by the glass watching up close. Gilbert Delorme skates up and hands me a puck (remember how low the glass used to be?). I still have the puck and will forever be a fan.
Feb 1986, Dad wins tickets to a banquet. The entire Oiler team is there. Some behemoth named McSorely is sitting right beside me. We eat and talk hockey, how friggin cool is that? Dad gets Gretzky to pose with the Stanley Cup and myself. Then, he stands and talks to us for 20 whole minutes!!!! I was a stuttering fool, I couldn't believe my good fortune. the greatest player in the game talking to me and my Dad!
Fall of 1987, the Montreal old timers hit Thickwood arena in Ft McMurray. My Dad is lucky enough to get to lace 'em up against Guy Lafleur. He sneaks me into the dressing room area and I get to meet my favourite player of all time. A vice grip handshake and a beaming smile, man... I was floating.
I can't imagine the effect these guys have on the thousands of sick children they visit, etc. Amazing, amazing people. I hope they know how we feel when they go even just a little out of their way.

Cool story. I met Jarome Iginla at banquet dinner when I was about 10 or 11. This was a good 12 years ago so Jarome was not the premiere superstar that he is today but I still remember being absolutely thrilled. I asked him about the upcoming game against the Blackhawks and he answered like he was genuinely interested in talking to me. It made my year.

Derrick Brooks has been released by the Bucs as well...drafted in 94 and has never missed a single game. unreal.
Also a bunch of other big names.
Quote:
Mark Dominik and Raheem Morris decided the Buccaneers needed a direction. And for the first time since the 1994 season, that direction won’t involve LB Derrick Brooks.
Brooks, the defensive captain and face of the Tampa Bay franchise, was released Wednesday, as were RB Warrick Dunn, LB Cato June and WRs Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard.

Holy crap! The Eagles have $48 million in cap space this year. Too bad the FA market is so slim. I'd love to see them bring in Haynesworth but they don't really need him.

I can't see Houshmanzadeh winding up anywhere but Philly.

I actually would prefer if he didn't. I don't think he's the elite receiver a lot of people make him out to be. I'd rather a trade for Boldin. That being said, they do have enough cap space to take the chance.
EDIT: I could see him ending up in a lot of different places. Packers, Giants, Jets, Ravens, Eagles, Cardinals (if they trade Q), Niners, Raiders, Dolphins, Bucs, Jags, Titans, could all use big receivers.
I could also see him heading to San Diego.
