Game 1 of the WHL final went tonight in the Hat, Giants win 1-0.. Even though both teams are guaranteed a spot in the Memorial Cup, there is obviously a fair amount of pride at stake, despite the low score it was still an entertaining game. Game 2 tomorrow, then back to the Coliseum for Games 3,4,5. Catch it all on Shaw.

Game 3 of the Finals tonight, the Hat blew a 2-0 lead but won 3-2 in OT. Only 8,011 at the Coliseum tonight but they're expecting over 10k tomorrow. Tigers lead the series 2-1.

Big third period for the Giants last night.

I only saw the third period, which was 90% powerplays. Not surprising given the officials.

Was there last night.. the score really didn't reflect at all how close that game was. Turning point was Dorsett getting tossed for biting Kenndal McArdle, then swinging his stick at a fan while walking down the tunnel.

Given some of his crybaby acts in Calgary, I can't say I am all that surprised the Dorsett would do something like that. He makes Watt appear the picture of maturity in comparison.

Dorsett suspended for Game 5 tonight.. Kinda sucks cause I was waitin to count how many ppl were gonna yell at him to grow some Medicine balls.

Still though, should be another war tonight, see how Keetley bounces back after 2 cheeeeeesey goals.

There is no OHL playoff thread, so might as well put this here.

Plymouth took a 3-2 lead in their finals with a 4-3 OT win over Sudbury. The Whalers took 81 shots in 73 minutes.

Went to Game 4 of the Giants/Tigers last night, great crowd. A very nervous-looking Ron Robison was scarfing down popcorn faster than I've ever seen anyone eat it right behind me.

Giants win 3-0 to take a 3-2 series lead.. Watt fought with Mike Sauer towards the end but the lack of Dorsett took a bit of the edge off things. Keetley made some great saves otherwise it could have been 5 or 6-0.

Game seven in overtime right now, tied at two. Very good deciding game so far.

Heh, thought the southern US was too warm for hockey, there is FOG forming on the ice right now cause of the heat in the MH arena.

This is amazing to watch...guys just playing for the love of the game, both teams are already in the memorial cup but just playing for pride and love of the game.

Three fog delays in the first OT too, this is hilarious. When they go to the ice level cameras, I can't believe the players can even see the puck.

Can't wait for the Memorial Cup rematch! It would be so cool if that was the final too.

Great goal to win the series. I've been in that arena a few times, and I'm willing to bet there are 4006 fans who will have their ears ringing for a few hours.

As great as a Memorial Cup rematch would be, I would just as soon see an OHL or Q team when I head to Vancouver.

Glad to hear that! The feed that our local station was relaying from Shaw cut out a second before they announced it. He totally deserved it. Sutter - get that boy signed!

UGH, even if you're joking you don't want to see Lewiston

BORING

If only Cape Breton and Val d'Or didn't beat the hell out of each other in the semis.

Should be starting a Memorial Cup thread soon I guess

Q have you (or anybody else, for that matter) seen Plymouth play this year? They seem to be the great unknown around town, and everyone I've talked to is REALLY hoping for a Giants/Tigers rematch in the final.

can't say I have, I haven't seen an OHL game in ages. And even then only on TV
