Not the most exciting game...
The Raiders are pathetic, plain and simple.

I thought their QB played pretty well. That's the first time I've seen him. They may have something with him.

Yowzers, the Chiefs get absolutely crushed today. Definitely proves that they are not in the same class as the NFL's top end teams. Their offensive line is nothing like it was last year and the defence looked like last years defence. Mind you of all the weeks to catch the Steelers this was likely as bad of one as you could ask for. No doubt the champs were snarly today after three straight losses. Also the official get off the schide day with Tampa, Detroit, and Tennessee all getting their first wins. I got absolutely killed in the Yahoo pool today and will only garner 55 of 91 points if the Bears can beat Arizona. Not enough to lose my lead, but still a good solid kick in the nuts.

This was by far one of the most offensive weeks in the NFL that I can remember.
And that is also shown by fantasy points in my Yahoo pools......I mean I got 193 points in one of my pools....that's absolutly unheard of for me.

The Chiefs did suck. But it was the defense that totally collapsed. Not the offensive line like others have indicated. Sure they coudn't run the ball, but every team the Chiefs have faced this year has stacked up to stop LJ.
It started out good. First down Jared Allen gets in the backfield and tackles Parker for a loss. 2nd down, the Chiefs allow a short run. 3rd and 11, total blitz, short pass. Ty Law has the reciever lined up for an easy tackle, he slips and falls down, reciever runs for 50 yds (before he slips and falls down with nobody near him). It was a turkey shoot after that. The Chiefs D did force 4 fumbles, but only recovered one. And the one they did recover, Huard throughs a pass off the helmit of Jordan Black which ricochet's into Polomanua's hands. Play of the game when LJ tackled him by his hair.
The defense was horrible and dug a deep hole that the offense didn't have a hope in hell of getting out of. The defensive effort reminded me of the game against the Giants in NY last december when Tiki Barber ran all over the Chiefs who thougth they were playing touch foot ball.

Well the fact that 3 of the Chiefs first 4 possessions ended in 3 and outs had nothing to do with them losing that game? You don't think teams were trying to stack up on the run against the Chiefs last year after Johnson had rushed for like 4 straight 100 yard games?
Last year the Chiefs offensive line was healthy in the second half, and they could move the ball at will against anyone. When they got that part of their game going, Trent Green starting throwing for 300 yards and tossing TD passes. Something he didn't do in the first half of last year. This year that line isn't what it was at the end of last year and teams can stack up on the run and stop the Chiefs dead in their tracks. Without top end wide receivers Damon Huard is hard pressed to go out and beat other NFL teams, and to be fair I don't think any other QB would fair a lot better.
On defence they are better this year, but they still don't get much of a push up the middle with the tackles, and their tackling still is a bit short of impressive.
Yesterday was a tough game because Pittsburgh had to be stewing and had something to prove. But the Chiefs weren't even close in that game. Will have to see if they can rebound against the Seahawks on Sunday.

Great game by the Saints yesterday, absolutely dominating the first half, only to blow the lead, perservere, and then have the drive of the season eating up the last 8 and a half minutes and win the game. Brees and Horn finally clicked today, and the offensive line was awesome, Saints 5-1 into the bye, sweet.

Well if anyone was doubting the Saints before yesterdays game, they shouldn't be now. Only loss was a close game on the road in Carolina, and all the rest of the games have been wins. I honestly can't remember an NFL free agent signing that has paid the immediate dividends that Brees seems to be delivering in New Orleans.

I thought SD was nuts to let Brees go (injury or not) but Philip Rivers is sure living up to his promise.
I really liked the way Brees developed in SD. It was almost like a light bulb came on that one season, and since then he has been money in the bank.

The Chiefs are really missing Tony Richardson on offense. He blasted big holes for LJ to run through. The loss of Roaf hurts. But the lose of him and Richardson is devastating. They still have too Pro Bowl guards in Shields and Waters. But they just can't seem to push through the line of scrimmage. Even in the Arizona game LJ had little production. All his yards came on his last carry for 70 yds. At least the O-line is protecting the QB. After the Cincy game it looked like any QB would be in big trouble behind that line.
Do you really think the Chiefs need top end receivers? They had the top offense in the league for three years with basically the same group they have now.

Well the year they went 13-3 they had Johnny Morton who is an upgrade on anyone they have now at receiver. Eddie Kennison isn't getting any younger, and never was one to scare anyone. Certainly a game breaking receiver might be needed now to try and get some of the attention off the Chiefs running game.
The Chiefs entire offensive scheme in the Vermeil/Saunders era traced back to their offensive line which used to be solid at all 5 spots. Welbourne, Tait, Weigman, Shields, and Roaf than last year when they had Waters in place of Tait were really solid units when at full health. As a result they could run the ball on anyone, and that set up their passing game. Also by having such a great group of 5 they could split Gonzalez out and use him as a receiver more often and move him around to create mismatches. But I do agree that Tony Richardson's absence is pretty significant. Consider that the Chiefs lost Welbourne, Richardson, Roaf, and Saunders I think they'd be having a tough time offensively even if Green was healthy.
This year the Chiefs have a different co-ordinator in Paul Hacket who is very predictable, and don't have the same tackles they used to have. I think the ability of the offensive line and an offensive scheme that took advantage of where the talented players was helped disguise the Chiefs weakness at WR. Now that the talent on the line isn't what it was, and the scheme is pretty predictable, it looks like a bit more talent would help at the WR position. The last couple drafts the Chiefs looked to defence with their top picks. Maybe they can look at the offensive side of the ball now as they need to get younger on that side of the game.

Cards smacking the Bears around early 14-0 after a couple TD passes from USC Alumni Matt Linehart.
Good stuff....Bears were getting way too cocky for my liking.

Just give me one long Berrian TD catch and the Cards can go back to pounding them. That would be perfect.
Cards 42 Bears 7
Berrian with a 90 yard TD.
I WIN!

The old school one? I vaugely remember it..of course in this commerical, they re-did the box, but the song and lyrics are still the original form the mid 80's. NO needless extra graphics..something you don't see.
Enjoy it while you can..I have a feeling the image of the lumberjack chopping the top of the tree off before rushing down to the truck to get his bowl of cereal, will infuriate some tree hugger and it will get pulled.

From all the pregame hype you would have believed that Chicago was the only team out there.
Good, helps the Saints get homefield advantage throughout!!!
