in regards to Aird not being extended, which I know a lot of ppl were upset about...they really liked him as a person and a leader, and had great services into the box, but his analytics were not good. Something like 70% of goals conceded came from his side of the pitch.
I remember Aird blowing his coverage on Rodriguez during extra time of the finals. Left him wide open which was compounded by Carducci's half decision to challenge. Noticed a few of those last season but 70% of goals conceded from RW feels high. Although who am I to say it wasn't 70%
Still think he earned another year but with Harms getting a higher share of minutes. Not sure if they like Laing there or if they are going to sign someone else or what.

I've been wondering about Myroniuk and if he could be an option at FB. Probably not fast enough to play as a winger IMO, probably not breaking into the top 4 or 5 consistently in the midfield. Decent on the ball, all effort. Not sure about his crossing or long range passing.
They drafted a fullback as well, Luc Ihama. I know nothing about him other than he served up the cross that Warschewski biked home that they've been spamming on their socials all week.
My money is still on them signing a fullback and another winger or two
4-1 loss by Forge. They put 10 men behind the ball and never looked a threat. Got a penalty on a handball call. Was an enjoyable watch.
Bekker and Babouli are slow as molasses. They each had a run with the ball early second half where they looked like they were running in sand compared to those around them. Babouli in particular was in behind and should have resulted in a chance.
Make Forge run this year, I have doubts they can keep up

I doubt Bekker and Babouli start most of the year.
Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) today announced the signing of defender Curtis Ofori through 2027 with an option for 2028.
Ofori, 20, arrives at Cavalry after being signed by MLS side Red Bull New York to a homegrown contract in 2022. He made his first team debut in a friendly against FC Barcelona, and developed within the club's academy until 2025, making 82 appearances for Red Bull New York II and winning the 2025 MLS Next Pro Cup.

Looks like he's a left back so I'm not sure what that means for Kamdem. It's the right side that we need somebody unless we're happy with Laing starting there.

Last year Gherasimencov became the starter over Kamdem so I think bringing in a guy to compete is good. And transfermarkt says he’s a left footer so having another one of those on the roster is big
I don’t mind Dada-Luke if he’s brought in but I personally think he’s been overrated in this league.
Looks like there's a new long term agreement between the CSA and Canada Soccer Media and Entertainment (which is what CSB just rebranded to). It includes a 50/50 split of revenues up to $10 million, with the CSA getting an additional 1% for every million thereafter, up to 70%.
Now both parties are motivated to grow the game in this country as both parties will benefit no matter how much money comes in. Probably the deal that should have been there all along.
.....also maybe this means CPL will still be there in 2037......
Diego Gutierrez has signed in Cambodia. Same club that Moses Dyer plays at. Marcus Haber is still going in that area of the world as well.
I wouldn't be surprised if Shome ends up in Asia as well, considering he's a full international for an AFC country (Bangladesh). I believe AFC internationals don't count as imports in some leagues or there's fewer restrictions on them?
James McGlinchey has been called into the U-20 national team for qualifiers. I think he might be the first Cavalry player called in to a national youth team?

I'm watching the Ottawa/Nashville match. I get that it is cold as heck in Ottawa, but the stadium looks Winnipeg empty. This is by far the biggest match Ottawa will have this year, and there are only a few dozen people there to watch.
