That's not to say he's not going to be overtly good in the NHL, but that he does a lot of the smaller things that don't get noticed that contribute to winning.

With these cuts, that should be the team barring injury or unless Catton and/or Dickenson get added.

Reminds me a little of Daymond Langkow in that way. Never got the amount of credit he deserved. Even now, as a former Flame, he barely gets mentioned.

A little surprised by O’Brien and Smith. Vanacker was a late add so he was the likely cut

That guy had the most unreal hand-eye for tipping pucks. I used to argue furiously with a friend that had season tickets beside me that thought he was useless, but absolutely loved Matthew Lombardi.

Everyone remembers The Terminator! Up until that one unlucky injury nothing could keep that guy down.
He takes a hit that you'd think would take his head off and he just pops right back up and keeps coming at you.
Huge Langkow fan! But I do agree, severely underrated and often overlooked.

He was a higher pick than I recalled, he went 5th in his draft.
And he's 5th in that class for points, 4th in GPs, and 4th in goals.
I don't need to tell all you who the #1 player from that draft class is across most categories.

Yeah on TV most fans are looking for offensive plays mostly and stand out defensive moments. Coaches are looking for the little things and while those can be hard to notice on TV you can kind of get a read on the coaches based on deployment.

The guy that's 330 points over the next highest point getter?
Other than Langkow, the top 5 all ended up way south of their draft position in points (TBF the top 3 were Dmen).

I am unaware of a Darian Hatcher fanclub.

Langkow was 2nd in scoring on the team canada world junior team that won gold in 1996- first in scoring was that other guy who had become Flames property a few days earlier ( 30 years ago tomorrow!)
so with that in mind if Reschny = Langkow
I'm torn if its Tij Iginla or McKenna who ends up equalling the 'other guy' and ends up being Flames property and our leader for a generation. McKenna seems the easier albeit less romantic path

DIDn't that slap shot to the back of Langkow's neck basically end his career?

Agree with those saying Reschny had a sneaky good game. I definitely focused in on him as I've never seen him play and he was deployed on both PP1 and PK1, had a really good chance on net right in the slot when he snuck in off the faceoff and loose puck that the goalie saved. Can tell he's very conscious defensively and doesn't cheat the game, but what's good is he also will get in on offensive chances when they're there.

Huselius-Langkow-Iginla was such an effective line. Seemed odd at the time, but kind of a perfect mix that elevated all of them:
The creativity, the responsibity, the power.
