If he has the same mobility as he had before since healing form the injuries then it's likely to be more of a confidence issue.

Most important draft pick in franchise history, and his time here was ruined by poor coaching hires.

I’m not condemning the organization, I’m just saying there are similarities between those two players inside this organization. I think coaching is massively important to player development - that’s all. I don’t like how the youth has been held to a certain standards that the veterans haven’t, and that tossing young players around the line-up doesn’t look to be an effective way to build the player.
Who are the vets that haven't been held to a certain standard?
I'm asking this question honestly b/c I don't really understand the POV. First, I think veterans are given more runway but when I look at the Flames I see:

Backlund/Coleman: Solid this season.
Huberdeau/Kadri: Leading the way offensively.
Frost: Has been moved around a lot. Not sure if we are counting him as a vet or younger player
Farabee: has been solid, just can't finish chances. But no reason to scratch him or anything.
Kirkland: has been scratched
Yegor: Has been scratched
Lomberg: i would agree that he could be sat down if that's one of the examples.

Who are the vets that we are talking about?

I don't know if he has the same mobility or not. I don't have an eye for that particularly watching on TV.
He does seem more tentative though. More of a premiter player. So a combination of confidence, but also the mental hurdle of getting over not one, but two, knee injuries.

With respect to Huska and how the lines have kept changing, I think it is tough right now.

For everyone complaining about Kerins not getting time on the team, you just need some patience. He will get called up when trades happen. I would rather him stay in the AHL getting top-line minutes and opportunity, than to come to the Flames in this nosedive, and be in and out of the lineup, and being thrown in different line combos.

I think once Kadri and another forward or two get traded, the lines will 'settle down' more. There are just too many bodies, and this isn't including Pospisil who has been out all season.

The kids are developing well in the AHL - there is no rush to move them. Let the vets get the opportunity here and try to maximize some value. There will be room soon.

Lomberg, Farabee, Backlund have all had games so bad they should’ve been scratched alongside Frost and Sharangovich.

Weegar, Andersson, and Hanley have been downright destructive at times. Seats were earned, but not given.

Kirkland is useless, but that’s why he’s been out for a while.

At this point though, we’re pulling away from the key point - young players being given stability within the line-up is good - and I don’t necessarily mean scratches, I mean more specifically linemates and roles.

It helps when young players show some kind of competence in literally any of the roles they’re put in.
