Flames fans don't want to even hear one peep arguing about bad kicking motion rulings particularly in the playoffs. At least it wasn't in a deciding game against your arch rival. This is the NHL and they make weird calls all the time.

I am a lifer Jets fan and that was a good goal. Was it kicked towards the net, yes, was it kicked in the net, no. Either way the team needs to stop crying and play, they couldn't do that and collapsed. That is the real disappointment. I played the game for most of my life and calls don't go your way, but if you want to win the cup, you suck it up and you score the next one. We didn't, so we lost. Trying to blame that loss on that single call is ridiculous, they need to stop talking about it and focus on what they did well in Game 2. Go Jets, Go!

What are you even talking about now? And why do you have to be a dick about it? I've explained how I (and many others apparently) saw the play, all you've done is yell and try and throw insults. Grow up.

I think we could dissect the frame by frame replay, argue about the interpretation of the rule, debate the split hair distinctions between word definitions and their presence or absence in the rulebook, and achieve nothing. Endless online discussion or ranting or complaining isn't going to reverse the decision.

Watch the play in real time. Watch the reaction of the Jets on the ice. They all reacted to a good goal scored against them. There was no objection.

The bigger issue will be if Hellebuyck can remember how to play goal on the road. If he can't figure that out, the Jets are cooked.

Deboer said the ruling was that Hellenbuck was trying to make a play on it so it negates the kicking motion. Or that's what the refs told him.

You are always allowed to play the puck with your skates in hockey, it just doesn't count as a goal if you kick the puck into the opposing net.

You can never play the ball with your hands in soccer (if you're not the goalie). The rules aren't even a little bit comparable.

I just watched the highlights, and I'm a little confused about the existence of this debate frankly. Such an obvious own goal, and a pretty bad panic move by Helle who had just generally kind of a bad night, and Stars won by 3 goals.

I understand the high emotion level in the series. but this is a complete nothingburger.

The Jets need to forget about that goal and just get ready for next game. The series is 2-1, there are a lot of hockey left. Whether that should've been a goal doesn't matter now, that's call adversity, every team goes through it, especially in playoff. Get ready and win the next game and get home ice back.
