Yes, Skinner had inexplicably stayed in the cage with 13 seconds left in a 1 goal game as the Oilers had possession going into the o zone. They obviously had a play drawn up for the d zone draw which they executed, but he just forgot or didn't think it was important. Must be frustrating when your goalie doesn't have his head in the game.

I know some Oilers fans who claiming Jeff Jackson set them up to be the cup favs. Media was all over their off season too.

It's another beautiful day.
Oilers xGF% the last 6 games:
37.05% vs. Panthers
32.03% vs. Lightning
30.86% vs. Capitals
36.56% vs. Flyers
42.43% vs. Avalanche
48.25% vs. Blackhawks
Don't get me wrong, Skinner isn't a starter, but you can't expect to win many games being out chanced 2:1.

The hope is that they miss the playoffs every year. Barring that, the hope then becomes not to win the division. They came close at points this year, but LA will soon leapfrog them and they will go yet another season without winning a division title. 37 seasons and counting.

It's difficult to stick check from the far blueline.

Just looking at some stats, the Oilers' PK is still sitting at a pathetic 26th place. That just ain't gonna cut it in the post-season.

Who would have thought that trading your best penalty killers would have an adverse effect on the PK? They have gone from best last season to amongst the worst units in the league this year.

I recall a few Oiler fans on this forum and elsewhere arguing in one form or another that their PK wouldn't be negatively affected after they let basically all their best defensive players go, but that's a given from that delusional fanbase

The Oilers are awful and deserve to lose every game and especially the last few, but man, it is shocking how slow Skinner is on his lateral movements. He has to have the poorest side to side movement of any starter in the last 15 years. Almost reminds me of Garth Snow and his equipment too big he can barely move era. Combine that with being reactive in his movements not proactive and he will likely never be a top half goalie in this league.
