there was an 'incident' earlier this week with my men's league game and i had to go to the rink this afternoon for meeting (a player on my team was taken out and as a result has a 100% torn hamstring - brutal!). anyways, as i enter the office area of the arena there are 2 guys in the office... the guy who runs the league and the facilities manager. the facilities manager is a huge oilers fan.
i walk into the office with a very pronounced limp
the oiler loving facilities manager asks me if i'm ok
i look at him puzzled and ask why he asks?
he motions to my foot and mentions my limp
i quickly reply... oh, this is just my halloween costume, i'm dressed up like connor mcdavid!
facilities manager didn't find that funny, but the guy who runs the hockey league almost fell out of his chair he was laughing so hard!

it's just too easy to bug oil fans

I had that weird thought about that show.

In today's dollars that would only be $40 million dollars.

That seems pretty discount, I think they need to do a movie of Steve Austin limping around on rusted broken parts.

It’s a miracle! Mavi was skating today!

TSN: he’s a fast healer as he comes back soon from all of his injuries.

Me: that’s what happens when you over estimate injuries and down time.

He should take a few extra days off. Oilers beat the elite powerhouse Predators tonight, so they clearly don't need him. Cup parade back on!

Must have been due to the steroid/horse urine injections.

I think it’s helped by the high immunity level that he has built up over the years from autograph signings and the 21 concurrent illnesses.

If you can survive that, it’s easy to shrug off ankles and knees. It does create temper tantrums and demands for digging in though as lesser players don’t have the same ability to self heal.

I think he went as Frankenstein for Halloween and didn't even have to dress up.

But he did have to comb his hair a bit nicer.

Do you think that he invited the oilers fans that helped him with his beer last year over to the cactus club to shoot a few hoops with his injuries and all?

I’m thinking that no matter what we have experienced before, by halfway through the game on Sunday everyone will be medically certified on ankles as sportsnet interrupts the actual hockey game for Mavi real time reporting updates.
