the Nittany Lions have managed a second-half surge in Big Ten play, with goaltender Arsenii Sergeev in the driver's seat.
“He gives us confidence,” said teammate Dylan Lugris. “We have the most confidence in the world that he’s going to stop anything that gets to him, so when you have a guy that performs to that standard game in and game out, and is consistent in that success, you can go very far with a goalie like that.”
“Once a guy like Arsi became available, we knew we had to jump at the opportunity,” said head coach Guy Gadowsky. “He’s just a lovable guy who loves to compete and have a blast with the team. But when it comes down to it, he throws down. He is going to compete as hard as possible, and you never have to worry about if he’s going to show up.”

both Penn State (and Sergeev) and UMass win tonight. Important wins in the Pairwise rankings. UMass is 15th and Penn is 16th. Top 13 is likely needed to get into the Frozen Four Tournament, with 3 others going to Conference winners
Suniev looked solid vs BC considering he's missed 3 weeks. A couple scoring chances and he broke up a great scoring chance for Gabe Perrault late in the game to help preserve the win.

Littler is not going to make it to the bigs, very disappointing how he derailed his career.

Maybe I'm missing something but how did he derail his career.
Wasn't he always a late round pick that was a bit of a project and a long shot.

He went 219th OA and was the 7th last player picked in the 2022 draft; he’s got big right handed center going for him but that’s about it, hey not all late 7th rounders can be Dustin Wolf

Perhaps worded poorly. He didnt give himself much of a shot by "quitting" on the teams he joined. From the Wenatchee Wild to Cedar Rapids to the Vees to UND all within a couple of years. Im aware he was a late pick, those guys need to work a bit harder, and he aint doin' it!

There is always more to the story. That amount of moving around is not a great sign, but these teams treat kids like absolute garbage at times and anytime you question it you are crazy hockey parent. It’s the entire reason Graham James was able to do what he did. Hockey is brutal for shutting the FATA up. Chances are if you are making $55k doing youth hockey, you are a total loser.

I also think it's a bit unfair to say he quit on those teams.
If I'm not mistaken his dad was head coach and GM of Wenatchee Wild, so I doubt he "quit" on them.
He played 2 years for Wenatchee, then they probably thought USHL was better for his development and it didn't work out, so he went back to the BCHL in a bigger program in Penticton (I'm sure his dad supported this).
So the only real program he quit on would be Cedar Rapids.
Then he decommitted from Minnesota State after they changed coaches, which is pretty common in college if the coach that recruited you leaves the team.
