He came as what I expected, flashes of his skill and then disappears.
Not a long term piece, likely gone at the deadline, but unless his play is absolutely awful he will be with the team at the deadline, imo. Whether we get something for him or not at the deadline is one thing, who knows

It is VERY "likely" he is not going to be involved in how the rebuild ends up in the long run, whether that 5th pick we may get for him returns in 2029 for anything of value.

I also think some people are ignoring the obvious...this team is going to SUCK. Like...this isn't a secret, this team is going to suck long and its going to suck hard.

Mantha isn't moving the needle any.

Well, and...individual performances can be influenced by Team performance.

Not the same type of player, but I see Mantha’s production similar to that of Mangiapane. 15-20 goals, 30-40 points. Instead of complaining about falling down, some will complain about is GAF meter. Perhaps not unfairly too. However, $3.5 nowadays isn’t a top line player, so there should be no expectations that he perform like one.

I think the only thing people can complain about regarding Mantha is that he takes a roster spot from a kid.

However, conversely, he could garner some assets at the Trade Deadline.

And all he costs is cash. Its like buying a draft pick.

Now. Use that pick wisely. Thats the trick.

And if that kid is Pelletier and is picked up by another team, that is a miscalculation by Conroy. Can he recoup a pick for Pelletier in a trade now that would be better or as good as what the Flames will get for Mantha later this season?
