Do Chile and Argentina have a deal to tie?

Chile looks a lot more disciplined than Canada was vs Argentina.

Canada playing for a tie to go through sounds nice but they just needed that to get into Copa and let Jamaica walk all over them.
Peru gave Canada all they could handle before the red card, Chile looks a bit better than Peru.

Any win in a tournament is massive. First time Canada's won in an international tournament out of 10 matches, Gold Cups don't count.

Chile are good but they are old and slow. Kind of like Croatia. I expect them to rough it up.

Man, got to finally watch the second half of the game just now - much, much better. Can Schaffelburg start against Chile please? Canada's quality completely changed the minute he stepped on the field.

I'm gonna chalk a lot of that poor performance to nerves and the heat. I have never seen so many players have their first touch let them down like that. It was crazy to see...they are better than that.

Big win when the performance was no bueno. Onward and upwards.

One of the assistant referees collapsed during the game. The heat was extreme. The next game in Orlando is going to be extremely hot too.

I don't know why this tournament is happening in the US at the end of June, but blazing hot temperatures does not help.

That Orlando stadium is fun - super nice facility! Was fun cheering on the Cavs there in February. Hope the heat is somewhat bearable.

Also, Watford has agreed (in principle) to move Kone to Olympique Marseilles; should be a very interesting move for him. Copa getting these Canadian players some exposure!

Cause that's when the world cup will be. People underestimate how hot the US gets.

The Copa America is happening in the US in June 2024 because the World Cup is happening in Mexico/Canada/US in June 2026?

I don't know if we actually want that.

Schaffelburg and Buchanan in the past have done extremely well as subs running at tired teams.

Schaff can't go balls out like he did for 90 minutes in the heat. He's in better form than Buchanan right now, so try make it through to half in decent shape and have him come on and cause chaos for the opposition later in the game with his speed at full boost.

Wow. I like this Ref.

I wouldn't call a Pen for that either. He backed himself and stood his ground.

Respect Sir.

That was a nice goal for Ecuador.

I always chuckle at CONMEBOL/CONCACAF s$$$housery knowing full well that they'd be doing the same or worse if they were in the lead.

Always interesting watching two Central American teams play. The diving and acting and staying on the ground is actually at a minimum because both teams know each other will do it all the time.

That, and every foul there are 7 players surrounding the refs.
Venezuela full value for the lead.
