Last night? Pospisil, Zary, Sharangovich

To deny popsicle the chance to stick it to those clowns is criminal.

Huberdeau squandering the scorpion save should bench him in SOs for the rest of the year.

If Sharangovich missed 2 open nets, went pointless in the last 7 games played and missed his last 3+ shootout attempts while looking lost in most those games.. yes I would probably pull him from the next shootout.

Let's face it, the Flames don't have a lot of skill. It's not like there's a plethora of amazing offensive talent sitting on the bench during these shootouts. Zary? Sure, I'd give him a shot. Maybe he'll be in next time. But there's not much there overall. Putting Huberdeau in there last night wasn't a bad choice imo. His attempt was light years better than whatever it was Kadri was trying to do.

Doesn't seem like the best path to winning. Its a breakaway contest - not a continuation of the normal hockey game.

This guy - https://www.nhl.com/player/petteri-nummelin-8468613 has the best shootout percentage in NHL history - 8 goals in 10 chances. He scored 9 goals in his career otherwise but was a guru on shootouts apparently. Not giving him a chance when he sucks in a game.. is just a terrible decision making process. It'd be like deciding who to give the most ice time in the hockey game based on who drove to the rink the best.

Joe Colborne was a bag of wank for a lot of his career but you'd put him in the shootout because he's good at it.

He has now missed 7 of his last 8 attempts dating back to the Canucks game one year ago today. I don't care how good he was in the past if he doesn't think he's going to score he won't. Confidence plays so much more of a factor than people realize.

Why not try someone like Zary, full of confidence and full of skill.
