Realistically it's going to be a tough offseason.

It's a time for humility and reflection.

Maybe even some learning!

Such as perhaps considering not gloating and chest pounding prematurely on your rival's forum next time to decrease the likelihood of a karmic ass whooping?

I mean that Oilers 5 on 5 game you were hyping all season sure came up big for them in the last two eh.

Maybe its time to consider that reality might sometimes be other than you want to see it, and there are still problems with the Oilers.

Just ####ing relax man, we get it you cheer for different hockey teams.

It is over, give it a rest. You don't know him outside of a website dedicated to hockey. Telling him to show humility and reflection is a ridiculous view to have.

I truly hope that you aren't this insufferable with everyone you meet in life with whom you have differences of opinions.

Lastly if you think that there is some sort of karmic influence for a fan being a fan, I have bad news for you. There isn't. Nothing he did or didn't do had any impact in the game at all

Obviously it's banter and tongue in cheek, since their fans will be reeling at this time.

You're meaning to say it's uncool to give an "I told you so" after all their chirping and board patrolling over the past months?

That we should shut up and suddenly be sweet and coddling to these same posters? No. This is the fun part and I'm going to partake in it.

Your high and mighty air of judgment over what's ultimately rival smack talk in literally the most appropriate place for it is what's unnecessary. You don't know me, and you're doing basically exactly what you're insinuating that I'm doing, which I'm not. Because you're clearly not getting the tone of the post, which isn't serious nor judgy (like this reply).

It's called getting your dig in. Gate keeping behaviour especially from a Canucks fan on another teams forum is what's insufferable. You already had a bone to pick with me for god knows what reason from weeks ago so it's clearly personal for you, which makes it kind of sad dude.

Maybe set an example yourself by burying the hatchet from your own personal grievances.

I'm alright with banter and I think that most people are. I think that the difference lies when it comes to someone coming after a tough loss and the reply is one of telling him to express humility over the loss.

It feels like the tone is one of either Oilers/Canucks get told that they don't show up after a loss or if they do show up they get insulted.

I do find your tone to be aggressive and bordering on rude with lots of insinuation about the character of fans based on the team they cheer for. That sort of crosses the line from banter to being a bit of a jerk.

Plus stang has been a contributing member for over a decade through good times and bad times for his franchise, and he has always been respectful and insightful. I do enjoy some of your insight but I don't enjoy the way you carry yourself or your tone.

^ that might be a bit of a stretch.

Stang can certainly come in here guns a blazing from time to time. Have zero issue with the guy, but not sure it's on anyone else to run the forgiveness filter for other posters.

They chose to keep an ongoing discussion going ... and didn't make it personal (no insults or attacks).

Every time I heard them exclaim the shot speed, all I could think was "is that really impressive?" I genuinely don't know. It doesn't seem that impressive when MLB pitchers can throw a ball 100+mph.
Obviously at all Star games, guys are getting up above 100mph, but in a game situation, it seems less likely to hit 100+.

There are some Canucks, Jets, Leafs, and Oilers fan posters that post here during the good and bad times and I respect that. It's the ones that choose to only post when times are good or join the forum when their team has success to troll that deserve what they get. I would hope that most people can recognize that sometimes good people choose bad teams to support so stang and some of our other Oilers, Canucks, Leafs, etc friends are good in my book.

Whenever I hear "bouchbomb" or "klim shady" I just despair and recoil in cringe. As has been pointed out before, didn't Michael stone have 2 goals less in about 30 fewer games?

"RNH!", "McDavid Express!", "Dynamic Duo!"

There's plenty of cringeworthy material from Singh.

That and he's blatantly transparent about who he cheers for. Contrast this with Oilers fans creating accounts to masquerade as Flames fans whom I personally consider the absolute worst form of human scum on this forum.

I can't believe Singh shoehorned another Bouche Bomb in the final minute with the oilers down 2-5 in an elimination game ... actually I can. It was just hysterically forced.

Not every shot from that guy is a bomb.

What is the learning? Is he not supposed to get excited when his team wins playoff games or rounds? Show zero excitement unless you win the cup because hUmIlItY? Life is short--only one team wins every year. Enjoy every game win and series win. Get excited. It is sports. Same way I don't blame Leafs fans for going nuts when they finally won a round. Thank god the Oil didn't win, but I am not gonna pretend I am not jealous they get to enjoy playoff hockey right now on a yearly basis instead of every second year.

Oilers to pay $1MM/MPH for that PP shot. 8yrs x $9.2MM per. they really screwed themselves with that Nurse contract and I love it!!! Both Bouchard and Nurse suck at defensive hockey.

Nurse contract is the starting point if I'm agent for Bouchard.
