Cutter Gauthier has looked phenomenal.
Coronato has been pretty quiet, but not getting as much play time.

I had no idea who Joe Veleno was before this; what a way to make a name for yourself. Definitely not one of the 20 players I'd send anywhere again to represent Canada.

Maybe Coronato is a Center....wouldn't that be a blessing

I wouldn't mind seeing Coronato between Huberdeau and Dube.

Sure, consider the contract, but the length of his manhood should be irrelevant.

roughly half of his college career was played at center. Pre-draft, he was a natural center

Cool. Hockey db and Capfriendly only list him as a RW. That’s great news

Oh boy. Conroys first move was looking at Carnation up the middle. I like it.

What do you mean - what they announced him as?
This story lists him as playing mainly RHS LW
https://flamesnation.ca/news/flames-...ith-the-flames
This one calls him a forward (with Button saying he’d fit at RW)
https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/calgar...-matt-coronato
The Flames’ roster lists him as RW. But then again they list Coleman and Huberdeau as wingers.

No. The intent was for him to play wing.

I think they like his versatility; he can play all 3 forward positions

Could be. I just thought the plan was for him to play ring wing since we’ve been looking for a scoring RWer for a while. Thought that’s what he played at the world jr’s. I could be wrong though.

I’m here in Riga watching the Canada vs Norway game and the Norwegians are quite boisterous. Chanting and singing songs. I’d have to say the rink is half full though.
The PP that Canada had at the end of the period did not have much in the way of prime scoring chances. Many of the shots went wide. You can definitely tell that Weeger is rushing the puck more at this tourney.
I swear I heard someone yell Looch.

Team Canada does seem to be devoid of offensive skill. The second goal was a softie as well.
