Russell out qualifying Hamilton for all of the first three races seems like a bit of an interesting story to me, especially given Hamilton hasn't re-signed for next year. Wonder if Merc would consider moving on, especially with the cost cap getting someone younger/cheaper might have side benefits for the program.

Driver salaries don't count towards the cost cap. I also don't know where Hamilton would go. Other than just retire maybe.
He seems to really hate that car though and seems to find it difficult to drive.

Seeing how they have him sat almost a foot closer to the front axle, I'm not surprised he's struggling.
Merc needs to clean sheet their car for next season.
