True but you can’t get rid of the team. If any coach loses the room it’s alway the coach who goes deserved or not.

And I hope they all end up with 3 points each and now Calgary has a kid line that dominates.

Give him time because he needs to adjust? How much time does a so called best player need? He has been terrible and it is not acceptable any more. It's been 24 games and he should have been at the top of his game about a dozen games ago. Sure he has 7 points in his last 7 games but hasn't exactly been the Flames top player doing that.
After getting 115 points last year he deserves a lot of criticism for his play this year. He's well bellow a PPG right now and I'd be very surprised if he reaches 75 points.
Is he waiting for his next contract to kick in before he actually tries to be the best player? The Flames would be in a better position if their supposed best player showed up.
I've lost my patience with him. Maybe you can tell.

You articulate well what everyone is thinking.
The trade and subsequent signing were unqualified busts.
What a failure. How did the scouts get things so terribly wrong?

The Flames were 4-1 in their last 5 coming into this game...its not like they should have been desperate to switch things up too much. Tomorrow is a different story now.

Flames had their share of bad seasons and games with them here too
Lets not pretend the Flames never lost to a bad team when Gaudreau/Tkachuk were around

Our leading scorer is 83rd in the league.
And we bring up Zohorna.
What else needs to be said.

Missed the game but these things happen. Still, these guys are professionals and there actually has been a lot of lazy play this year, especially from surprising players like Lucic who, from what I remember in years past, always gave it 100%. This year? Doesn’t give a F. Well that’s just not acceptable. They really should sit him one or two nights and give him a last chance to get his feet moving. Nobody is claiming him on waivers and let’s be honest it’s not like he is doing his role of protecting people, hard forecheck or fighting so no thanks Milan we can find younger cheaper people to float around listlessly. Start to care or GTFO.
I really like that Sutter called out the team for poor effort. That to me is an experienced coach, knowing when to pull the trigger on that type of commentary and I bet you see a super invigorated team tomorrow for sure, they are going to give the Leafs trouble. Also, this pretty much guarantees that Phillips will play tomorrow because you can’t reward that piss poor laziness without removing a body or two and having this stud kid (AHL stud) sit again.
Hey Flames, you’re not good enough to mail in efforts. You’re not the ####ing Harlem globetrotters. I want to see more alarm bells from the players here as even in interviews they are way too ho-hum. It’s like no, you are a ####ing professional, move your feet or hit the road.

I get the first point but Zohorna IMO was clearly the best player on his line tonight so not sure what that means.

Well that was certainly a deserved loss and to a bottom feeder no less, just a sad effort.
I wonder if the players realized it’s hard to win games only playing 5 out of 60 minutes. Columbus absolutely owned the Flames with their counter attack tonight. Got behind the Flames D and burned them way too many times. It’s one thing to trade odd man rushes, but to give up a pile and barely generate any of your own, no good.
This team reminds me so much of that 2021 team. They couldn’t string together a win streak of more than 3 and currently, this team has also not been able to put together a win streak of more than 3 either. Their inability to find a line that’ll give them consistent production could be this team’s down fall. You never know what line will show up or not show up. It’s just a complete guessing game unlike last year’s team that had 2 consistent lines and one that could be counted on to produce almost daily and the wins just stacked up.

I think he’s trying his best to be a defensively responsible winger that plays in Sutters system. I just don’t think he’s very suited for it. He’s played his career as a more free wheeling type doing high risk/high reward play and not caring much about being defensively responsible. I don’t think he’s anywhere close to being the worst flame it’s just that it’s square peg in round hole and it’s going to take him a long time to fit if ever at his former production.

Hanifin was right beside Laine but his momentum skating backwards was carrying him away from the play.

|
Think I remember Andersson jumping up into the play on this one, so he was caught deep and had no chance to recover in time. A forward should’ve recognized this and covered for Rasmus.
Although, Hanifin should’ve probably recognized that Laine was in behind him, something that was happening all night. Too much puck watching tonight, not enough details. The pre-game meetings probably should’ve had the players well aware that Columbus likes to stay high and get behind the D. Not a good from anyone outside of Markstrom.

Huberdeau has some skill. But he’s super sloppy.
He’s like watching a baby deer on a frozen lake.

Weegar’s worst game by far. Hurt the team quite a bit with all of his penalties.
